Vehicle Detail

Here we have a nice Original Paint 1967 BMW R60/2. This is a triple numbers matching machine that is good to go “as is” – or a perfect candidate for restoration. This model has the optional 6.3 gal Schorsch Meier – Sport tank and also has a really nice pair of LK Heads. These heads were used toward the end of production of these machines, and they were a big improvement over the earlier version. The original brick red liner in the tank is in perfect shape - very nice. This bike had been sitting for many years, but has recently been given a major service. All fluids were changed, many seals and gaskets were replaced – including the push-rod tube seals, oil pan gasket, carb mounting gaskets, cylinder head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, final drive to swing arm gasket, and transmission to swing arm boot. The engine was tuned up and the magneto was fine tuned to perfect time. New spark plug wire was installed. The Carburetors were rebuilt, and the large ring gear seal and gasket was replaced in the final drive. The transmission was given a complete re-build with all new bearings, seals and gaskets. This machine has a very nice set of Metzeler tires that appear to be nearly new. The original paint on this bike is in good shape over all, with the usual nicks and scratches that a vehicle of this age would have. I cleaned it up a bit, but some touch-up paint would go a long way to make this bike look even better! The mufflers are after-market and are pretty much open – it’s louder than your standard R60 – but it sounds pretty good! – The motor starts very easily, and runs well. It has smooth and steady power at all speeds. The speedometer was cleaned up by North Hollywood Speedometer and works well. New fuel lines were installed. All the lighting works as it should. The handlebars are a bit taller and wider than stock, but they feel very comfortable. Some of the chrome has some off of the front rim in one spot. This motorcycle is currently registered in my name, and I have a new California title for it as well. There are no registration problems here. If you want a good looking vintage classic to ride this spring and summer – or want to restore a worthy example – this one is for you! Feel free to ask questions – I am happy to work with your shipping company – I can deliver in southern California for a reasonable fee.On Mar-11-13 at 09:52:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Also - this machine has a brand new battery! ThanksOn Mar-12-13 at 10:04:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for the bids! Not far to go now - and the weather is getting warmer! When I replaced the cylinder base gaskets, I saw the inside of the engine looks like new - It is super clean in there. I also replaced the carb - to air tube rubbers, and re-installed a bunch of correct hardware. The cables are lubed, and it's ready to ride - good luck and enjoy!
