Vehicle Detail
*I have shipped bikes cross country before when moving or selling and I can arrange all shipping for any buyer worldwide* *40 large pictures lower down* The previous listing was ended due to the number of messages I received wanting more info, a buy it now price, more pictures, as well as scammers trying to get their nose in all in the first 2 hours. I wasn’t able to answer the questions because I hadn’t looked at the bike very closely so I ended the listing, have gone over the bike with a fine tooth comb, and know every inch of it now. Also, the petcock was misplaced and I have one being overnighted. This came up in questions. I do not intend to misrepresent any motorcycle so please look at all of the pictures and ask questions. This is a bike from 1979, I express no warranty. It is a perfect candidate for a small restoration and I just don’t have the time to do so I build cb350/cb500/cb550 café racers, and I purchased this bike as another project. I have too little time and too many things to do, and I am not knowledgeable enough on the 6 cylinder cbx so I feel it is best to pass it on to someone who knows these and can do everything it needs. This CBX was stored for numerous years in the previous owner’s heated basement with the battery and brakes removed, fuel drained, and petcock removed, and was there for years. It was stored correctly, although all stored motorcycles will need some work. Like all bikes that haven’t been run in a while it will need work to the carbs and brakes. Worst case scenario a rebuild of both. Due to the lack of a petcock and time I haven’t attempted to start it, although the engine turns over and everything functions as it should. The transmission shifts and clutch works. I expect it to fire up instantly, I just don’t have the time to do so. When turned over with the starter there are no clunks, grinds, issues, or anything of the sort. The paint is in perfect original condition except the rub spot on the rear cowl. All chrome is excellent with no pitting. Quick specs: 1979 cbx1000 Clear title 12,000 miles Original owner’s manual that came with the bike Original tool kit Original and in good condition for the age Original backrest for the bike Good: All electrical components work as seen in pictures All mechanical components such as clutch, transmission, electric starter, etc work. All it needs is gas, clean carbs (if they do need cleaning) and it should fire right up, and then brakes to stop. No rust on the frame/body. Only rust is on the exhaust (mentioned below) and the odd surface rust on bolt heads that’ll come right off. No oxidation on aluminum No cracks in any plastic at all Issues (everything I am aware of): Rust hole/rot on the inside top of the right exhaust. Near the passenger footpeg. (pictured) Crack in the seat cover (pictured) Left side muffler was repaired at some point and can be seen in the pictures Backrest option rubbed the rear cowl (pictured) Feel free to contact me with any questions and I will respond promptly. I will consider buy it now offers, however, DO NOT message me asking what my "buy it now" is. Instead, offer what you feel and I will let you know whether you're even close. On Mar-09-13 at 13:01:52 PST, seller added the following information: I started the cbx today on starter fluid. It fired and "ran" (as much as it could with only starter fluid) and no knocks or odd sounds were heard. Tomorrow I will hook it up to an external gas tank and let it run for a longer period of time.On Mar-11-13 at 11:32:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve is set low and the current amount is within dollars of the reserve, literally.
