Vehicle Detail
1973 Ford Bronco – NO RESERVE – Automatic, PS, PB, Dana 44 Up for sale is a clean 73 Early Ford Bronco – automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, Dana 44 front axle, Ford 9” rear, vintage 4x4, 302 V8, convertible (removable hardtop) and a collector truck. It runs great with good power and is 99% rust free. I’ve included a ton of big pictures so you will have a good idea of what you are bidding on. If they are not all coming up please click on the available box and it will take you to photobucket. I have not had this truck long, as stated below, but this is what I do know about the truck. DRIVETRAIN: 302 V8 with edelbrock intake manifold, holley carb and edelbrock air cleaner. Also has an HEI electronic ignition distributor. 3 speed automatic transmission on the column. 4WD works great - transfer case shifts smooth. The engine runs strong and smooth, starting easily without the manual choke (which is not hooked up). It has a newer battery and starter. There is no smoking or knocking. Does have a small rear main drip when sitting - just a few drops nothing major - otherwise no leaks underneath the truck. Power steering works like it should and power brakes work great - it is drum all the way around. Brakes stop very solid and will easily lock up the rear wheels if you hit them hard. The only thing the bronco may benefit from mechanically would be disc brakes up front. The automatic shifter lever sometimes needs a wiggle to get the starter cranking?? Bronco shifts nice and smooth and I’ve driven it up to about 70 mph without a problem. Previous owner stated it has all new bushings and steering joints which is consistent with how it drives at higher speeds. Runs only off the rear gas tank – fuel gauge works great with electric fuel pump. Temperature gauge isn’t working otherwise everything seems to be working fine. Engine has a nice sound to it and is pretty quiet in the cab. EXTERIOR: This is an older restoration that was recently cleaned up. Previous owner stated it was originally done about 10 years ago so what you see is what you get - no rust hiding underneath new paint! The paint is clean and glossy and a very cool looking gunmetal grey but the bodywork is amateurish. It looks awesome from 10 feet away but up close its wavy in spots with a few small dings that were painted over. Center of the hood, bumpers and headlight lenses are satin/flat black – also amateurish. I would say it's driver quality paint that you could be proud of driving around … definitely NOT a 30-40k show truck. It does have some clear coat coming off the top of the hardtop which isn't really noticable unless you climb up on the truck. Two small areas of clear coming off where your arms rest on the doors as well. It has small nicks and a few small scratches throughout from use over the years. There is a stress crack on the bottom of the drivers door (see pic). The outside of the bronco appears all rust free. The inner fenders, engine compartment, kick panels, posts and body tub all appear rust free. Previous owner did state it has newer floorpans on top of the old ones before the carpet was put in. You can see the rust in the seam of the original pan under the car....appears to be the only rust. I don’t see any other rust holes underneath ( I've included pictures of common areas) Rust free frame. Wheels are nice but have some pitting – would surely benefit from a polishing. Tires are older but have excellent tread and track nice at speed. All trim, lenses and emblems are intact and ALL exterior lights / brake / turn signals/license plate work like they should. INTERIOR: Clean good smelling interior with a set of newer very comfortable Jeep seats swapped in. The front are in excellent shape. The driver’s seat slides back and forward but the back recline isn’t working. The passenger seat folds forward and slides to allow access to the back. The rear seat matches and folds up out of the way for some cargo space. The rear seat does have 3 slices on the top which could maybe be repaired? Nice newer black carpet kit. Dash is pretty clean with a Grant steering wheel. All dash electrical and gauges work except the temperature gauge, the horn and the gauge light itself. The overhead light in the sunvisors does work fine. Charges nice and pumps great oil pressure. Fuel gauge works fine. Has a nice newer Pioneer stereo with CD, Auxillary IPOD hookup and USB port. Works great but would benefit from some new/more speakers (only one in the dash). Heater blows hot and the fan works nicely. All window/door mechanisms working as they should. Keys lock the doors with some wiggling and there is no key for the hardtop. I bought this truck out in Colorado about a month ago when I was visiting a friend. Rented a UHAUL and drug it home for another friend here who now cannot come up with the money. It is an original Colorado truck which is where the previous owner purchased it. He then moved to Arkansas for 6 years (re-titled it there) then moved back to Colorado where I bought it. The bronco has a clear Arkansas title signed and ready to be transferred to the new owner. (I’ve included pictures) If you are a California bidder - I have NOT tried to title this car in California and give NO GUARANTEES that you will be able to – sold AS-IS. I've heard California can be rough on out of state vehicles. Please look into it before bidding and only bid to purchase. I have tried to describe this bronco as best I can but old cars are old cars and there are going to be defects throughout. It will be sold in AS-IS condition without warranty or returns!! All pictures are recent. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or less than 90% feedback please contact me before bidding. Inspections can be set up. I will be away from March 14 – 20th ….so if you are the winning bidder we need to coordinate full payment within 3 or 4 days and I will overnight the title to you immediately following cleared payment. Actual pick up or shipping can be set up immediately or when I get back. Think that’s it. Thanks for checking out this cool bronco and feel free to email me with any questions or additional pictures. On Mar-05-13 at 14:13:06 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the interest. I hope bidders find these additional pictures. Just to answer some questions and to add pictures of defect areas. The auction will run its course there is not a 'buy it now' price. Again the body work is amateurish but I would say the truck is driver quality. The bumpers are very clean but the hood insert could be resprayed flat black and the top of the hardtop has the clear coat coming off - I've added a picture. The rest of the top is clean. You could just mask the edges and respray the top if it bothered you. From the ground you have to be looking for it. There is some clear coat coming off the driver and passenger arm areas. I included the driver in a pic - the passenger I think has a little more. There is an extra hole in front of the driver mirror - I've attached a picture. And there is a crack touch up spot on the tailgate - I've attached a picture. This is a very cool clean good running bronco that is NOT perfect. It has small chips, scratches etc. Please review all the pictures closely so you know what you are bidding one. Sold AS-IS with a clean clear signed Arkansas title. Please ask questions BEFORE the auction ends. Thanks and happy bidding!!! On Mar-05-13 at 15:43:09 PST, seller added the following information: To address one more question: After looking under the truck, the oil drip is NOT from the rear main seal...looks to be from the spot where the dipstick goes into the oil pan. Should be an easy fix. Rear main seal is completely dry. This is the only leak under the truck. Thanks!
