Up for auction is a rare 1958 Jaguar Mk1. This is a beautiful drivers car that has been completely rebuilt. Engine has been upgraded to a 4.2 L Jaguar with HD-8 carbs. New valve guides, intake valves, exhaust valves, valve stem seals, valve springs, cam bearings, rod bearings, main bearings, piston pin bushings, chain guides, new pistons, .020 over. Timing chains, chain tensioners, crank reground and balanced, new oil pump, water pump, head surfaced and painted in the "original" correct avacado green color, block painted. Engine was assembled by MOTOR WORKS in San Diego. Original 4 speed with Laycock De Normanville overdrive was removed, cleaned and checked out fine. New clutch, throw out bearing, U-Joints, new motor mounts. 4 new shocks. Exhaust manifolds were re-done in "Black Porcelain", with brass nuts and washers, new gaskets and a complete new exhaust system. Distributor has been rebuilt as well as the HD-8 Carbs. New SU fuel pump with kill switch. Complete two tone paint job Custom upholstery! Full Italian leather with black piping including leather door panels.(originals were vinyl) Beautiful cream color suede headliner. New carpets. Gas tank cleaned , sealed and rebuilt sending unit installed. Radiator rebuilt and pressure tested. Generator has been converted to alternator. All 4 wheel disc brakes were re-built, calipers, new pads, sleeved. New brake and clutch master cylinders and a new slave cylinder for the clutch. New genuine white wall tires on powder coated rims, including the spare. Most of chrome replaced, including front and rear bumpers, license plate light housing , emblems, etc. New Lucas PL (Tribar) head lamps with halogen bulbs. New dimmer switch All guages work, with the exception of the odometer. Even the low fuel light works! Tach and fuel guages were rebuilt . The heater is not hooked up, and the Trico windshield bottle needs to be hooked up. All 4 windwing rubber seals replaced at great expense! Have receipts for everything except paint and upholstery. Most parts were purchased from XK's Unlimited. This is a great, fun car that turns heads wherever I take it. Always a crowd when I take it to Cars and Coffee! It is an excellant driver that starts first time every time. The tool kit is rare and complete, contained in the original tool case that has been powder coated in gloss black. Original jack is included The paint has suffered a few scratches that I will try to show in the pictures. I encourage anyone interested in this vehicle to come and see it, drive it in person. You are welcome to have the vehicle inspected as well. Two items that I will mention,____ although the rear main seal was replaced during the engine rebuild, there is still a small drip from the rear main. Also, after spending countless hours trying to get the emergency brake to function properly, I GIVE UP! Has new cables , new pads, dont know what else to do. I have tried to be as honest regarding the description of this car as I can, but would encourage a personal inspection.
