***NO RESERVE***1954 Hudson-Nash Metropolitan Series II Hardtop.The Metropolitan was the first Compact Economy car Conceived in America by the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation. With styling by Pininfarina in Italy (Pininfarina refused to let his name be used on the Metropolitan) & production by the Austin Motor Company in the UK the American designed Metropolitan was one of the first International World Cars. In May of 1954 the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation announced the merger with the Hudson Motor Company to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC) and as a result the Metropolitan became available as a Hudson model in August of 1954. 59 years later we acquired this restorable example of the Series II Hardtop with the 1200 cc "B" Series motor & hydraulic clutch from a private collection here in Texas. After we got it back to the shop we were able to get the engine running with minor tuning however we did not drive this vehicle.It will need complete servicing before driving including( but not limited to) all fluids,brake & clutch hydraulics,battery,tires etc...This model was equipped with the optional Heater & AM Radio.The Interior is complete with a good headliner,steering wheel & dash.The exterior is fairly complete with most chrome trim & bumpers in good shape(just look at that Continental-Style Spare tire!) having been resprayed at some point its now showing its age.After a good mechanical restoration you can expect up to 39 MPG. This car will be seen on an upcoming episode of the Hit Show Fast N Loud & the Winning Bidder will have the option of taking delivery on the show!
