Vehicle Detail

Rust-free, solid, straight, no accident history, very original unmodified condition. Engine should run, turns over freely, but I've been unsuccessful thus far since I pulled this car out of a 20 year indoor garage storage recently. It was part of a package deal on another car I bought from an estate sale. I have original owner log book of every maintenance, gas fill up, and repair done over the first few years of it's life. I have a packet of receipts showing repairs and maintenance over the years from previous owner. It started out in Oregon and was sold to the second owner (whose estate I bought it from). He was in California at the time and it spent many years there. He drove it back to Pennsylvania and it's been sitting untouched in his garage for nearly 20 years now. This due to his deteriorating health (and eventual death). One picture show the cars as found at the estate. I basically inflated the tires and towed it home. The hydraulics (clutch & brakes) will need going over and are not functional at this time. I have two (2) repair manuals pictured that go with car. It also has a tonneau cover. This car needs minor restoration to bring it back to roadworthy condition. Just doing the mechanicals can make this a presentable driver. Floors are solid with not even a rust stain. Trunk is also solid without any surface rust at all. The interior is tatty (seat rips/tears, carpets, etc.). Dashboard is good and electrics (lights) seem in working order. Tires are OK tread-wise, but due to age, should be replaced. Mouldings are all straight and good, no dings. Has wheel trim rings. Classic "MGB" side decals. Windshield is broke, but I have a replacement that goes with the car. Convertible top is white and in dry poor condition, but hard top is good. Trunk lid has crease at hinge point where someone tried to force lid closed (common MBG fault). Overall, this is the most solid, un-rusted MGB I have ever come across! Remember, this is a NO RESERVE auction and will be sold to highest winning bidder. My feedback is 100% excellent and I accurately describe what I sell. Post questions and I will respond. Those with zero or negative feedback must contact me "PRIOR" to bidding as I will delete and flag bid and bidder from participating. Thank you for understanding this. AS IS, WHERE IS. No warranty or guarantee. This car needs restoration and is NOT currently roadworthy, but it will take very little to get it that way.On Feb-28-13 at 08:46:30 PST, seller added the following information: GREAT NEWS! I GOT IT RUNNING TODAY!It bothers me that I didn't get it running before I listed it, but oh well. I fiddled around with it this morning and was able to get it started. Ran smooth, no unusual sounds, but couldn't keep it running because of a couple things. The electric fuel pump was thumping, but not getting fuel to the filter/carb. So I sprayed some gas and 2+2 into the carb and was able to get it to run for several seconds that way. Oil pressure shows on gauge.I also noted it has an aftermarket electronic ignition setup. I mentioned in listing that this was an original unmodified car, but I missed that one improvement, sorry. No points to adjust & set. I will be dropping the buy-it-now price very soon. On Mar-04-13 at 05:08:07 PST, seller added the following information: Let me add some clarification and explanation: The car has a "clear" title in my name. I am currently the owner. The title is NOT salvage or flood or lien or otherwise problematic. The listing details specify a clear title and I have answered other bidders questions about the title more than once. Apparently, the mobile app for Ebay does not provide these details and therefore the repeated questions and thus my frustrations. As for getting the car "running", it is not driveable in its current condition. You cannot turn the key and start it right at the moment. It does not even have a battery. I only did some preliminary mechanical investigation with extra battery, jumper cables, gas and 2+2 carb cleaner, NOT ether, NOT starting fluid. It ran for several seconds just long enough to hear the engine run and hear that there were no unusual sounds coming from the engine internals. This is not a guarantee of engine condition or promise of not needing a rebuild. That is for you to determine. If it were mine, I was satisfied that the engine is fine enough for use, with tune-up and general maintenance, fluid changes, and a good going over all the ancillary sub systems. I only offer these descriptions to best give the overall condition an accurate reading. The windshield is broken and I DO have another one that goes with the car in its original extra frame. You will have to remove the windshield from this extra frame in order to install it on this car.The hydraulic clutch does not work. The brake pedal is up, but i believe some calipers are sticking. This is a rust-free solid and straight car in very good overall condition and worthy of restoration. I my opinion, the mechanicals need a good going over, needs a battery, needs hydraulics going over. Cosmetically it needs interior work, seat covers, carpets. It would then be a very presentable fun car that might polish up nicely. The car is going to highest bidder. You are bidding to own this car and the winning bid is NOT a right of first refusal. You are expected to pay up and take possession ASAP.Good luck bidding!
