Vehicle Detail
This is a one family car. My friends father bought it brand new and did some old school mods to it in 1990. He put a half roll bar inside it, and an engine strut tower brace in it. He also bought factory wheels from a 1992 5.0 and put them on it. At about the 100,000 mile mark, he gave it to his daughter. She put another 84,000 on it. The body is amazingly clean for a foxbody. If you know these cars (and chances are that you do if you are looking), you will find a really nice example here. It needs some love, but has in no way been abused. It runs out very strong, sounds great, and shifts through all the gears. The Borg-Warner T-5 transmissions are nice, but if you have never driven one, you might not like it. It has a close ratio shifter in it, so shifting needs to be done by a ramrod, not a teenage girl. This car should be purchased by a weekend mechanic or by someone who wants to restore or race it, not someone who has no idea how to turn a wrench. There are some things that need immediate attention. The owner told me tonight that a freeze plug was replaced recently, and after driving it for a while, I can hear something pissing out coolant pressure. I suspect it is another freeze plug that went bad. Once one is bad, they are all usually bad. The brakes are lumpy, and need replaced, but the matching tires are in like new condition. The drivers side door hinge pin needs replaced. There is a quarter sized rust bubble on the hatch by rear window. The power steering pump is noisy. Newer battery. A/C works, but heater has been bypassed. Power windows, but passenger side wasn't working today, power mirrors and door locks. Factory radio has never been removed. Drivers seat is ugly, but passenger side is good and backseats look like nobody ever sat in them, other than the fading in the hatch area. The dash is not cracked, but the pad thing on the passenger side of dash is all boogered up. If you want a rust free foxbody (other than the bubble by the window) that isn't beat, but needs some love, you've found it. If you want a perfect 24 year old car, be prepared to spend some bank, and keep looking. I will modify this post as I discover more about the car, but it has only been in my possession for about an hour. Clear title in hand. Call me with any, and all questions before you purchase. This is not a new car. I will describe everything to 100% of my ability, and even video call you to help with an 'eyes on' viewing.
