Vehicle Detail
1968 Convertible Mustang, 289 & C-4, VIN#8F03C124101, complete numbers matching car. I came across this car in a garage in North Alabama while searching for a 69 or 70 MACH1, never found the car I wanted that I could afford so I bought this one. While in the middle restoring this car I came across the car I wanted (1971 MACH1) right around the corner from my house at a price I could afford so I picked it up. I can't rstore two cars so I am selling the 68' convertible. When I bought the convertible, the story I got on it was that the original owner passed away and left the car to his son who kept it for a while then sold it, the car was in a garage in North Alabama for 7 or 8 years where I came across it. When purchased this car had rusted through floor pans and fender apron, bad quarter panel. Sheet metal has been professionally replaced. The sheet metal job was not a tack and body filler method but was fitted and TIG welded 100%, beautiful job. This car is rock solid with no rust! Car is ready to be media blasted, primed, painted & put back together. The only thing I know needs to be purchased is the fabric for the convertible top, the two interior door panels and the two trim pieces in the back seat where the rear window handle is at. These pieces are with the car but damaged too badly to be used in my opinion. Other than that, this is a complete car. When disassembled, hardware was bagged and labeled. My plan was not to restore as a numbers matching car but to build a resto-mod, Eleanor Convertible Clone, pic attached of how I was going to finish the car. One of the nice things about a solid car ready to go back together, you can make it any color or style you want. I can take and email anyother picures you would like if you are interested.
