Vehicle Detail
Very nice Amc Rambler Rebel Cross Country 770 wagon. Body in great shape, came from Kansas. The only rust repair needed is the front floorpans. They have been repaired by previous owner with sheetmetal but could use a professional redo. It now has a 5.0 HO Ford small block set up for fuel injection. Motor/trans are from a 1988 Lincoln LSC. Motor was put in correctly and looks almost factory installed. I have all the wiring, and sensors need to make it run. It was a running motor that was regasketed, (rear main, front main, oil pan, freeze plugs). new cap, sparkplugs, water pump plus more. Gas tank has been cleaned and sealed. Brand new wheels and tires ( 50's in the rear, 60's up front) with 0 miles on them. Brakes are good (modern disc brake kits are avaiable from scarebird.com.) I also have a power steering box and new radiator. The suspension is tight and would be easy to lower or airbag (coil springs front and rear, with lowering plates easy to fabricate for the front.). I have completed the charging system wiring, and ran the heater hoses. I have selected the ecm location and started laying out the componets and pulled the harness through the firewall with the correct grommet. I have driveshafts to cut and fit, plus all of the little stuff goes with it that would normaly cost a fortune. Glass is all there, rear window even rolls up and down. The interior should be replaced. The previous owner had the two front seats professionally rebuilt and re-covered and gave me extra material to do the rear seat. The door panels are there but need to be re-done. The dash pad will need to be repaired/replaced as well. The headliner is driver quality at best. To me, its cooler than the run of the mill chevy/ford/dodge wagons, and alot cheaper. Would make a great family cruiser when finished. To be clear, it is not in running/driving condition, this is a project car. It has a clear Missouri title. You could put a carb on it and have it running very quickly if wanted to.
