Vehicle Detail

No Reserve bid to buy Auction 1978 Ford F250 Supercab 4x4 XLT 429 Dana 60's AC VIN# X26SKBG0196 Classic vehicle restoration shop offering this truck on a no reserve auction. I received this truck in trade on a high end vehicle, I have no use for it, so here it goes. The previous owner had this truck for 25 years. I'm describing this add how he described it to me, I've driven this truck about 40 miles. The truck runs great, goes down the road straight, mechanically great, some cosmetic work to be nice, so I'm selling it as a running/driving project. Click or copy and paste this link for 72 pictures of the truck. http://s953.beta.photobucket.com/user/fj40man79/library/1978%20Ford MECHANICAL Around 3000 miles on a built 429. Motor was built for torque and pulls hard, can't estimate HP on this heavy of a truck but it moves very well. Electric choke Holley double pumper carburetor on Edelbrock intake with MSD ignition. All the AC components are hooked up and seem to work. Not sure if AC blows cold as its too cold to tell. C6 automatic shift well, 205 t-case goes in and out of 4WD well. The front end is the factory optioned 4.10 gear Dana 60 high pinion that came in this truck. Ford only made this front end in 78 and 79, it is the most desired factory pickup axle out there, I've sold this axle as a core in the $1200 range several times years ago. The rear end is also a Dana 60 4.10 geared. Master cylinder, brake booster, calipers and drums rebuilt 1500 miles ago. BODY All the panels appear to be original to this truck. There are spots of rust on the driver side rear fender-well, some spots here and there. It's not really bad rust, but should be noted and will have to be addressed in restoration. The interior is mostly original. This is a factory supercab 4x4 Dana 60 truck as indicated by the VIN, not a hacked together mess as most. The tires are 90% or better, spare included, tow package and aftermarket rear bumper. Overload springs, dual battery setup. The windshield is cracked, the rear slider needs help. Factory A/C truck all there. Miles show 85xxx, told that is original, but there is really no way to be sure on any 1978 vehicle. I went over the main components on this truck, it's a great start to begin a restoration on a rare desired original truck. Can be enjoyed and driven as-is. I'm selling this as a running and driving project, please don't expect this to be mint in any cosmetic regard. The mechanicals are great, spend some time and have a great truck on the other end. I transferred WA state title on Feb 2, I should get the physical title back the 1st or 2nd week of March. I can show the title app. etc. By the time this auction ends and the vehicle is shipped to you the title should arrive about the same time. I assume that as the 2 1979 F350 4x4's I've had went back east. The title is clear and clean in my name. I take cash in person, cashiers check or bank to bank wire transfer within 5 days closed auction. $1000 deposit due immediately after the auction is over via PayPal (No Exceptions). I have 2 shipping brokers that I will pass on to you or work with your shipper. I welcome an inspection during the auction at my shop, skip Auto Appraisals in the phone book, I own that business. This is an as-is sale, vintage vehicles need tinkering please expect that. Bidding on this vehicle means you agree to my terms. I answer emails 4-5 times a day, please ask any and all questions. Less than 10 FB must email 1st or be cancelled. Thanks for looking! f350 lariat xlt custom f150On Feb-21-13 at 18:37:08 PST, seller added the following information:Thank you for all the questions and comments regarding this truck. I appreciate the offers to end the auction early....but I plan to let the auction ride to completion to be fair to everyone.
