1979 Ford F150 Truck. Indy 500 pace truck edition. You are looking at an official pace truck for the 1979 Indianapolis 500 mile race. This is one of the replicas sold by dealers in 1979 to commemorate the Indianapolis 500 mile race. These trucks are rare to find these days. Ford made a lot less of the trucks than the Mustang pace cars.This truck is 2 wheel drive with the 302 motor and automatic transmission. It has power steering, power brakes, air ( not working) and AM/FM radio. Truck runs and drives but needs work before it is road trip worthy. It runs a little rough and will need a tune up, belts, hoses, some brake work and a carb rebuild. It has rust in the usual spots as seen in the pictures. The interior is in good shape for its age with no cracks in the dash pad and only minor tears in the seat as seen in picture. Mileage shows 50,000 but i believe it to be 150,000 miles.This truck would be a great restoration project and would look great pulling your pace car on a trailer to shows.
