1996 Mazda Miata – FMII Turbo Originally built by the owner of Inertia Sport out of Florida as a competition track car, this Mazda Miata has been babied over the course of its life. This 1996 Mazda Miata with an FMII Turbo System from FlyinMiata was built with only quality parts from the bottom up. With well over $20K in parts invested, it was built to be a true driving machine. Currently has 102,000 Miles. The good: This car drives great, runs great, looks great, and is EXTREMELY FAST (not for the faint of heart). It had been built to be driven, and is not a luxury car by any means. The body and shell has been kept in great condition, and there was no expense spared in building such a great machine. In the past 2 years, the majority of the turbo system has been rebuilt with newer updated parts from Flyin Miata, and the car has had many numerous upgrades performed. The bad: In the course of upgraded all of the parts on the turbo system, the Miatas tune has come out of spec due to new fuel readings, and has not been re-tuned since. Therefore, the car idles rough when cold, and at low RPMS. This happened because whenever I purchased the car in 2009, the down pipe had a large hole in it, and was getting incorrect A/F readings. Whenever the downpipe and the new intercooler were added, the readings didn’t match with the tune. Now, for safety precautions, the car is running a base generic map from Flyin Miata for their 1.8 turbo. I do not have the time or the capacity to have the car professionally tuned, however I will be including a lap top and all instructions that come with how to tune the car on your own. AWD Tuning out of Dallas quoted me $450 to professionally tune the car. Cosmetically, the car looks great. However one of the new rims has a small amount of curb rash from a bank line (all other wheels are perfect). Also, the passenger side fender needs to be replaced due to someone backing into the car at Walmart (hit and run). I have another fender to replace it; however it needs to be re-done in order to match.
