Up for sale is my 1999 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT. This particular model came fully loaded back in 1999 with dual power and heated front seats with leather all around, along with 4WD, running boards, a roof rack, rear A/C, and tinted windows. It is also equipped with an endurance 42-gallon gas tank, new-ish BF Goodrich Long Trail tires with just over 10,000 miles on them, and a 2-month old battery. The truck has nearly 306,000 miles on it but is in solid condition. It has never given myself or my family trouble of any kind and has served us for years as an extremely reliable and useful vehicle. I know the mileage is terrifically high, but I have no other way of explaining it other than that the vehicle is just plain reliable. It starts up every single time no matter what and always, always gets me where I need to go. The truck was originally owned by a good friend of my mother who frequently participated in competitive dog shows all over the East Coast until my family purchased it from her to be used as one of our primary vehicles. It shouldn't have any problems passing inspection and definitely has enough life left in it to serve another family well. However, obviously a vehicle with this sort of mileage is not without problems, so here is what I know as well as what I have been told by mechanics:- The driver's seat has been worn pretty hard and would probably do best with a cover over it from now on. It still heats up and is extremely comfortable, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit of an eyesore.- The carpets are stained in a couple places, most noticeably beneath the dashboard.- The transmission makes a metallic click when shifting into drive or reverse. I'm always good about not doing it while the vehicle is rolling backwards, but I've been told that a pin latching the vehicle into gear just tends to grab hard. The vehicle has NO problems driving whatsoever and only makes this noise when moving into either drive or reverse (I can show you in person). - The exterior of the vehicle has a number of nicks and scrapes in various places from the 306k miles of driving. - The two back passenger doors do not lock electronically. I've heard this is a simple fix, but never had the time to get around to it. All other doors lock electronically. Since we have had the vehicle we've recharged the A/C, replaced all spark plugs and wires (engine was mis-firing), and replaced the serpentine belt and idling motor (belt broke loose in traffic). We use high-mileage motor oil for regular oil changes and perform the necessary fluid flushes and checks when they're due. Those really are the only burning issues with the truck. The Kelly Blue Book "Excellent" value of the vehicle is over $5,100; however, due to the high mileage I am pricing the vehicle well below this at just $2,200 or best offer. I feel as though this truck is an absolute steal at this price and am only selling it because my commute to work is now under two miles, so I really have little need for it. The truck is never driven hard anymore and makes regular 300 mile round-trips into Virginia at least twice a month to visit family. I've also taken it to the Outer Banks in North Carolina twice in the past year with no issues. It's a great truck! Don't pass it up just for the mileage if you need a vehicle like this, it really won't let you down.
