1969 Chevelle Big Block Convertible . This was originally a small block car but the small block was tossed aside for a beefy 454 big block engine that was opened up to 468 cubic inches so this is not an original car anymore .Engine has only been in the car about 1000 miles so it is fairly New also It also has a 400 turbo automatic transmission a balanced drive shaft with heavy duty u-joints and 10 bolt rear end. Mechanically , this car is very solid . No it is no longer a numbers matching car . If it was ,it would easily be twice the price. If I was going to restore this car , I would replace both fenders and both quarters and the driver side rear inner wheel housing . The fenders could be patched . The body panels when we checked for this was pretty reasonable to have all new parts put on and eliminating the rust all together although I am sure that you could just use half quarters on the quarters if you really wanted to also .The floor is fine and should not require much if any work at all . The trunk has a trunk pan to go with it so you could also replace it while you are getting the body done .I would not mess with the interior ( it looks to be original) but I would put a new top on it because it has a couple of cuts or tears in it . It is also a power top but the pump needs filled and primed to get some air out . ( it runs fine ) Haven't had time to bleed it down and fill it up with fluid . I would also replace the front bumper . Around the windshield is very solid also . Parts that I have replaced myself or had help doing . Gas Cap New Starter New Ford Solenoid New Drive shaft New U-Joints New Battery New New Chrome Trans Dipstick New Brake kits on back drums turned also New Chrome Water Neck Valve Covers Used ,Cleaned and Powder Coated Newer exhaust Trunk Pan New ( Uninstalled ) I am not a body man so please don't ask me what the body looks like , come out and judge for yourself . I have already stated what I would do to the car . For any info that is still needed as well as setting up appointments to show the car to anyone that has the funds to purchase it . The stock wheels and tires are just rollers that hold air I would not take a chance on driving it home on them although 3 of them look to be fine. One has some dry cracking in it ,it looks like .This auction is for the car on the stock rims and tires only . If you are interested in just rolling chassis I can cancel this auction and do a Buy It Now for $7500 Cash . Again this will be with the stock wheels and hood and no drive train if we go that route . In this case case a non refundable deposit would be paid and then I would pull the drive train out and you would make arrangements to have the car picked up . If the bidding gets above $7500 you will have to ride the auction out to see if it reaches the reserve that is set on the complete vehicle . So basically , if you want the car as a roller , you better act quick because once it gets past $7500 I will not stop the auction early . I would hate to see you not be able to get the car you have been searching for just a little bit more .On Feb-02-13 at 08:34:01 PST, seller added the following information: I just wanted to add here that if you do a little research you will find that this car is the cheapest price complete and drivable Chevelle Convertible that has been bought on eBay since around September . There have been some cheaper Chevelles sold (most were hard tops though), but none that were as far along as this one. I did not see a single convertible one that was complete and drivable that went any cheaper up to this point in bidding. I would also like to add that I would be very interested in buying back the drive train if we can meet a good price for both parties. I say this in case you have some monster engine already sitting at home that would look better and torch the tires better than the one that is currently in the car . I am also still not interested in trades. I can't remember if I mentioned it or not but I do have an SS hood and the Weld wheels and tires that could also be purchased for a little extra . I will try to post a picture of what the car looks like with the SS hood on it. The hood has hood locks added for the extra security in locking the hood down .
