This auction is for a 1 of a Kind 1939 Ford Coupe. Well, actually 2 of them in 1. This car was specifically built for the 40 & 8 (Honor Society) of The American Legion "Aarvig & Campbell" Post 78. This car has been a Staple in this community since the early to mid 1980's and has been in practically EVERY parade since then. Safe to say it is a VERY WELL known car in our area, and it will be in yours as well no matter what you chose to do with it. Whether it be advertising, or using it in your own parades, it is DEFINITELY a head turner, and people will REMEMBER it!! My Good friends from Post 78 have now decided to sell it, as they feel they could better use the procedes in other parts of the community, so I am listing for them now. This WILL BE a NO RESERVE auction! As most of the guys that are responsible for building this are sadly no longer with us, I cannot guarantee with 100% certainty the details about this car. All I really have to go on is what I have HEARD from some of the Legion members, and a few of the Good Ol boys from around town, BUT, I'll do my best and hopefully it's accurate. The car is made of TWO 1939 Ford Coupes, set on a 1980 Chevrolet frame. I believe the Front & Rear end are both out of a Camaro. The engine is a 231 3.8L V-6, and it has a 3 speed automatic transmission. Again this is what I am TOLD. Things I CAN confirm are that the engine does run very nice after warm up, and the transmission seems to shift as it should. As the car has been sitting for the last few years it will need a tune up, & some fresh gas. Three of the door windows are cracked, and it is not free from scrapes, scratches, interior flaws, and other imperfections, but it does look Every bit as nice in person as it does in the pics. I'm kinda picky so if I were going to purchase this car I would plan on redoing the entire thing, but that's just ME. It has a brand new battery, all the turn signals and brake lights function perfectly, the tires are ALL in Very Good to Excellent condition, and the title is CLEAR. As I stated above, I am listing this for a Good Friend of mine so winning bidder will be dealing directly with him on the details, and at auctions end to close the deal.
