Vehicle Detail

Take one part military truck, one part early 4×4, and one part tractor, and you get the Dodge Power Wagon . Based on the WWII Dodge 3/4-ton truck, these were built for the civilian market from 1945 through the late 1960's. They were the go-anywhere workhorses of the Dodge line. Thanks to the two-way power take off, the front shaft could operate the winch or pumps, while the rear shaft could operate any sort of powered equipment, like a mower or a saw. This had many applications in civilian use in industry, agriculture, public utilities, state highway, law enforcement, and fire fighting This solid 1952 1-ton 4x4 Civilian model is offered by Ron Cunningham, a noted Power Wagon restorer. Between health concerns and orders for other Power Wagon restorations, Ron is selling two trucks out of his collection - this one and a military version that will be listed soon. Maybe you've had a Power Wagon before, or you've wanted one for awhile. Why should you buy this Power Wagon? Because Ron Cunningham knows these vehicles inside out, and he knows exactly what to look for when he buys a Power Wagon. This is not one that's been sitting for a long time, inherited or bought on a whim by someone who doesn't know Power Wagons. This B3PW can be confidently driven and enjoyed right now while you decide on your paint scheme, or just keep it in survivor status. Running examples of Power Wagons at a reasonable price are hard to find, especially ones that are rust and rot free. The motor and transmission are strong, clutch is good, original PTO winch works fine, gas tank has been cleaned out, carb gone through, electric fuel pump added, bearings repacked. Brakes are OK, tires are fair. Starts right up and doesn't smoke. If you want a Power Wagon, you won’t do better for this price. Ron enjoys talking Power Wagons with anyone who knows them or knows of them. If you don’t know these trucks, please learn more about them before calling and make sure you want one. Don’t ask if you can drive this truck home if you live half way across the country, unless you are ready for back roads at 45 mph. Ron does not email, I handle that for him. If you email, I will just refer you to call him. Pick up the phone if you have questions. His shop number is 608-848-1189 and he’s there most days between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm CST. If he’s not there, leave a message and he will call you back. If you visit Ron’s shop, he will make you feel right at home, offer you a toddy and put the Power Wagon on the hoist for your close inspection. A few pictures of Ron’s Power Wagon restorations and his shop are included for your enjoyment. .
