Vehicle Detail
1990 K 75RT. This bike runs excellently, smooth and quiet. I am selling it for my son, so I will try to put every known detail in the listing and be happy to answer any questions via ebay for all to see. I am a long time BMW rider, so when my son wanted to start riding, my request was that he start on safe and dependable bike like the K75. By golly, he listened to me instead of rushing out to get that 1200 GS. Now he is looking to move up and ready for the big bike. If you are looking at this bike, you likely already know about the legendary reliability and handling of the BMW. The K 75 was the silky smoothest engine they ever built. Everyone who knows lots of BMW riders knows someone who has 300,000 miles on this model. We know 3 guys here in Sarasota with over 300 k on their K75. At under 43,000 miles, it is just broke in. My son is the third owner, and never dropped it, or raced it. It was repainted by the last owner. We had Haps BMW, here in Sarasota, do the safety inspection, change the air filter and some rubber hoses, as well as put a new electric fan on it just recently, and we have this documentation. Condition: It has a couple scratches and a paint chip on the mirror, as shown in a photo. It has some chrome off the exhaust pipe. It looks as if a previous owner did not have the battery discharge hose on correctly and possibly battery acid removed the chrome there. It is not really noticeable because of its location. The condition overall is normal (I think very good) for its age and mileage. Known issues are some broken inner fairing parts. I tried to photograph each one. The only one that did not photograph well is the inner fairing box on the right side. It is cracked on the inside, under the lid, in the bin/box. High Points: * New tires (less than 1000 miles on them). * Excellent wind protection. * Loudest motorcycle horn I ever heard. * Smooth, quite, and fairly powerful engine. * Luggage rack, bags and lots of under-seat storage. * Electrical accessory outlets. * Throttle Lock Screw. Low Points: * Not nearly as powerful as the big bikes. I ride an r1100s, so there is my basis of comparison. * Non ABS Model * No heated Grips, but hey, we are in Florida! * We do not have a key for the saddle bags. Easy BMW shop fix. The kid got approval for the big bike, he just needs more down payment, so his first bike has to go to make room for it in the garage.
