Vehicle Detail

First things first.... I am NOT an EBay newbie! I have over 1100 transactions with 100% positive feedback under user name arcane_kevin. A divorce turned messy has forced me to start a new account. Now then.... Here we have a late production '74 Triumph TR6 restoration project with the desirable overdrive transmission option. I purchased it from the second owner with the intention of restoring it but recently found out I owe a bunch of money to the IRS so it doesn't look like it's going to get done any time soon. Rather than let it sit even longer, I've decided to pass it on to someone with more time and (hopefully!) money. The second owner bought the car in '98, drove it home, disassembled it and started to repaint it in the original French Blue (it had been changed to yellow at some point). The paint job never got finished and the car has not run since then. It has always been in California and was in the Central Valley until '98 when it came to the San Jose area. This is a totally rust free car. It appears to have some very minor body work in the right front fender near the headlight. I can't find any other bodywork or signs of accident damage. The odometer shows just under 10k miles. I'm sure that the total mileage is 110k. I've made no attempt to start the car so I don't know anything about the mechanical condition beyond the fact that it was driven by the second owner from Turlock (in the Central Valley) to Milpitas (near San Jose) with no problems. After sitting for so long, it should have the brake, fuel and cooling systems gone through before any attempt is made to drive it. The interior will need to be completely redone with the exception of the dash pad and center console which are in great shape. The wooden dash panel had something laid on top of it and broke across the middle. The top will need to be replaced and the windshield is cracked. All in all, this is a great starting point for a relatively easy restoration. Everything the car needs is readily available from a number of different sources. You won't find a cleaner, more solid place to start. My reserve is set at about the value of the overdrive transmission. Please feel free to contact me with any further detail questions you might have. You are welcome to come check it out if you're nearby. Bid early and often!
