Vehicle Detail
***Up for sale is a very clean 73 Early Ford Bronco - vintage 4x4, V8, convertible (removable hardtop) and a collector truck. California truck since day one - check out that blue/yellow plate! NO emissions required in California. It runs great, is really straight and nearly rust free. I’ve included large pictures and wordy detail so bidders will have a good feel for the truck. ***DRIVETRAIN: 302 V8, 4x4 with 3 speed HURST manual transmission on the floor. 4WD works great - transfer case shifts smooth. The carburetor has been rebuilt and it has a new alternator, battery (and cables), U-joints, voltage regulator and starter. The engine pan was dropped cleaned and reinstalled. It has headers and sounds great! Starts right up everytime and runs very strong with excellent power and throttle response. No smoking or knocking. Radiator was removed and cleaned. The transmission and transfer case have been resealed and serviced. Both differentials have been serviced. There are NO leaks under this bronco with NO drops on the ground!! It has new brake shoes all around. Brakes stop solid and the emergency brake works great. Bronco shifts nice and smooth but the clutch does chatter when taking off from a stop. It is very fun to drive and if you don’t slip the clutch it drives great. The clutch does chatter pretty bad if you slip it. Engine runs only off the rear gas tank – fuel gauge works great. The front tank is not under the truck but all the brackets are there. Steering is a little loose and the truck does drift a bit going down the road but cruises nicely at 55-60mph. ***EXTERIOR: Truck looks to have had one repaint 20+ or so years ago over the original red. It is dull and has scratches and nicks throughout with a really cool patina look to it. I was going to repaint it but figured that can always be done and just to enjoy it as is. It is extremely straight with only one small ding/dent on the front passenger hood. The outside of the bronco is rust free other than a few blisters along the bottom of the windshield which haven’t come through the paint. I don’t see any rust holes underneath. Wheels are clean black mags with older LT tires but with excellent tread 90%. All trim, lenses and emblems are intact and ALL exterior lights / brake / turn signals work like they should. ***INTERIOR: Very clean with a nice black carpet kit and redone front and rear original bronco seats. All new door rubber weatherstripping installed. Dash pad is original with a few cracks but as you can see still clean. All dash electrical and gauges work except for the horn. Runs cool and pumps great oil pressure. Fuel gauge works fine. Has Sony stereo with CD works and sounds great. Heater is not hooked up in the engine compartment but fan and controls work. Bronco has all original clean glass throughout with both side window mechanisms working as they should. The door panels are in good condition though a new set of armrests would be a nice addition. The passenger vent lock is missing. Looks to have been some amateur bodywork done on the inside of the drivers quarter panel some time ago. Passenger is straight but there is a little sign of some rust but very minimal. Nothing on the outside of either quarter panel. Have rearview mirror but it’s in the glove box. Keys lock the doors. No key for the hardtop but with the rear tire locked in place the rear of the truck is secure. Think that covers it. This bronco would look really amazing with only a fresh exterior paint job or just enjoy as is. It may even buff out pretty clean. Please be serious about bidding and bid only to purchase. I have tried to describe this bronco as best I can but old cars are old cars and there are defects throughout and it doesn’t exactly drive like a Cadillac!! It will be sold in AS-IS condition without warranty. All pictures are recent. Buyer will get keys and a clear California title with current registration until May of 2013. If you have less than 5 feedbacks or less than 90% feedback please contact me before bidding. Will sell worldwide but buyer responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Thanks! 714-475-8568 On Jan-16-13 at 16:12:27 PST, seller added the following information: I hope everyone scrolls down the page to find this. There have been a lot of calls and questions about this bronco. Please read through and I will try to clear them up. 1. Yes it has a clear California title. Purchased from a guy who needed the money...title still in his name. Decided to go a different direction. 2. Like originally stated in the listing, this bronco is NOT 100% RUST FREE BUT IS REALLY MINIMAL. I've added some pictures below of inner fender wells, engine compartment inner fenders, door posts/kick panels, striker posts (already in the ad), tailgate, inner quarter panels, windshield and floor pans from under the truck. Again the only real rust I see are the small bubbles on the bottom of the windshield (6-8 about the size of a pencil eraser) and the passenger inside quarter panel has a few bubbles as well. You can also see the 'repairish' looking area on the driver inner quarter panel. The seam on the drivers floor pan has a 2" split but I DO NOT see any cancer rust. There is some surface rust around the seam as shown in the pictures. They look original. I wouldn't think any of these trucks would be rust free. This is a great - really straight - solid - REALLY minimal rust bronco. 3. I've been told the chatter in the clutch is very typical if they are not driven regularly and can actually smooth out the more they are driven. 4. There are over 150 people watching this auction. Please do some bidding early as I reserve the right to cancel the auction early. We've all seen those rusted out dressed up trucks...this is not one of them - with a 20+ year very cool looking paint job to prove it!
