Vehicle Detail
If you have any questions about this car please message me through the eBay messaging system - that is the best way for me to help you. Check out the "FREE full AutoCheck vehicle history report" - this car has never been in an accident; I am the second owner since late 2009. This is a restored D-Series 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback; front-wheel drive. 4-speed manual (new short-shifter - see pics) with 4-cylinder engine. "Short-sifter" has a polished aluminum knob - very short shift-throws! Original color was white with blue vinyl interior. New polyurethane primer, polyurethane paint (Bright White with Ghost Pearl/Blue-Green-Purple Sparkle additives) and polyurethane clear coat within last 3,000 to 4,000 miles (total of 14 coats) - up close car looks like it has saran-wrap on it. Seats are all original - rear seats - vinyl look almost brand new - rear seats were hardly ever used (see pics). Driver's seat on the side the vinyl is worn - but I have "gray sheepskin seat covers" installed that work great and you won't be able to tell. I added the factory rear-speaker mounts which also includes the rear-cargo-area-deck-lid (see pics). Speakers in rear factory mounts are new (see pics). Car has a six (6) speaker stereo - all new "Kenwood" speakers (pics show each one individually). Mudflaps are new. Upgrades to the base model (original car): Passenger-side mirror, digital in-dash clock, rear-hatch factory-speaker mounts & speakers, rear-hatch-area-deck-lid, rear-hatch interior cargo-light, exterior-rear-red-reflector-garnish-piece between the 2 tail-lights. Please keep in mind that this is a 21-year old car - see report Car does not have air conditioning; windows are manual (they all work). I am the second owner and I have the original window sticker from when the car was first purchased! Items listed below have been replaced within the last 3,000 to 4,000 miles: New engine and associated parts (radiator, rotor, cables, plugs, new hood cable, etc...). New timing belt and new water pump; new engine gaskets. New 4-speed manual transmission - "short" shifter (polished aluminum ball - see picture) [F1 manual trans. including flywheel, bolts, etc ...] New exhaust with performance headers, flow-thru pipe and performance muffler to add some extra horse-power, and performance air-filter (blue colored filter in engine picture) with associated aluminum tubes to also add more horsepower. New CV joints, brakes, rear bearings, new belts, hoses, and anything related to re-building an engine. New alternator was put in before engine was re-done; approximately 4,000 miles on this part. New battery - April 2012 New special windshield sealant used to re-seal the windshield weatherstripping - does not leak! New seat covers plus heated-padded cushions for front seats; padded heated front seat warmers - driver and passenger. New 15" alloy rims with new 15" low-profile radial tires: 15" low-profile tires are speedometer matched to the original 13" factory tires and rims. In other words, if the speedometer says you are going 55-MPH, then you are. [No, I do not have the original rims, they were in bad shape and not worth keeping, very pitted & ugly] THERE IS NO WARRANTY WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE DRIVEN this car less than 4,000 MILES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS! 3 of the 4 floor mats are factory mats. 4th floor mat I just thought was neat to have; no I don't have the one to replace it. It has no accidents; however, I have re-painted the car with 2-coats of poly-urethane primer, 4-coats of white poly-urethane paint with ghost pearl and blue-green-purple sparkle additives. It also has 8-coats of poly-urethane clear-coat with the last coat coming after being wet-sanded. The car looks like it carries a "ghost" in the paint. THERE IS A LITTLE RUST ON THE CAR - NOT GOING TO HIDE THAT - BUT FOR THE YEAR AND CONDITION IT IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. I will give you what I have left of the polyurethane paint, primer and polyurethane clearcoat that I used if you personally pickup the car; if car is picked-up by shipper then most likely I won't be able to include - we'll just have to see if they would accept transporting those painting supplies. [I paid about $600 for the primer, paint and clearcoat materials - although I did not use all of it to paint this car]. I am the second owner; and, I have the original windows sticker, owners manual and book. I will also include some extra parts that I got from a kit that I used. I have 1 set of keys. Known issues: ******************************************************* (1) I took it out recently for a drive, and, the check engine light came on - it drove fine except when I got to 70-mph on the speed-o it hesitated - which tells me it is probably some kind of sensor (mechanic says it is the idle control valve). Although when I started it up for a picture of the dashboard it did not come on; I took it out for a quick drive and light stayed off. (2) The dash lights are out (I will include the "new" bulb that I was referenced to replace it with but you never know until you go to actually do it). (3) There is still a little rust - barely visible (see pics) - it is in the 21 year-old car category. (4) Minor - driver's seat on the side (closest to when you enter car) has worn vinyl - but I have "gray sheepskin seat covers". ******************************************************* Message me via eBay - car is in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin Beaver Dam is where it can be seen or test driven. Thanks!
