Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car for a little more than five years but the time has come to sell it. The car is an original 383/4 speed. The car is numbers matching. I don't have a build sheet or fender tag for the car but the transmission and engine block are stamped with a partial VIN. The motor was rebuilt in 2008 at RPM machine shop here in Rohnert Park. The engine is now 434 cubic inches. The original block was fitted with a stroker kit from Muscle Motors. The motor has a comp cams camshaft, edelbrock aluminum heads, an edelbrock rpm intake and is topped with a Holley 750 double pumper. The machine shop dynoed the car after the engine was broken in. Horsepower was 373 and torque 400 at the rear wheels. With the 4 speed this car is a real blast to drive. Many parts have been replaced by me over the last five years. The body is in decent shape. The previous owner had the car painted a forest green color. The interior was redone prior to me purchasing the car and it is also green. The body work is one of the only things I haven't started on the car. There is a small area of paint bubbling on one of the rocker panels. The floors, trunk pan, rear window area, and quarter panels are all solid though. This mopar definitely gets attention wherever I take it. Here are some details about the car that I wrote up in response to an email I received. It looks like the quarter panels were replaced at one point. I'm not sure if any other body work has been done to the car either from an accident or rust repair. Mechanically the car is solid. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2008 with only the block being reused. All other engine parts are new. The rear end was gone through before I bought the car in 2007. The car has a new drive shaft. I haven't done any work to the transmission. I was saving that for a future project. The transmission doesn't have any problems. I just planned to eventually go through and rebuild it. The car has some electrical issues. Mainly the dash lights don't work when the headlights are turned on. I don't have the instrument cluster screwed into the dash frame so I'm not sure if its not grounding or if there is another issue. Also some of the instrument gauges don't work. The frame doesn't have any rust damage to it. There is some damage to two holes in the frame though from like a tow truck driver or something. A small hook or something kind of ripped the holes open. The body is overall pretty solid. There is a small area of bubbling paint on the passenger rocker panel. No rust showing or anything but there is that small area of bubbling. The floor pans, trunk pan, quarter panels, and frame rails are all solid with no rust damage. The paint job is is equivalent to like a 20 footer paint job. There are scratches and little chips out of the paint. The previous owner had the paint job done and it was just a cheap paint job. They didn't paint the door jambs or anything like that. There are also numerous little dents on the car. Nothing big or major though. On Dec-29-12 at 11:56:11 PST, seller added the following information: The brakes are the original drum brakes all the way around. On Jan-01-13 at 16:34:47 PST, seller added the following information: I have taken more pictures of the car and added them to Photobucket. Ebay wont allow me to include the Photbucket link, but I will gladly give out the link to anyone that messages me for it. Also I have lowered the reserve to 18,000. On Jan-03-13 at 11:47:41 PST, seller added the following information: I have now lowered the reserve to 16,300.00 so the next bid will meet the reserve price. Also payment will be required within 7 days from the end of the auction. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty. I have tried to answer as many emails and messages as honestly as possible. Good luck!On Jan-03-13 at 16:48:54 PST, seller added the following information: I wrote up a detailed email response to someone that had a few questions. I'm going to copy my response here in case anyone has similar questions. Also I took quite a few pictures of the trunk area and uploaded them to photobucket. So check out the link again to see them or ask me for it again. I have aftermarket oil pressure and water temp gauges in the car. I also have an aftermarket tachometer. The original speedometer works but it isn't totally accurate. The original fuel gauge and alternator gauge work. The previous owner replaced the fuel tank and sending unit. The original oil pressure and water temp gauges aren't hooked up. I can't remember if they work or not though. The front tires are 225 Bfgoodrich tires that will need to be replaced in the near future. They were worn unevenly because of worn front end components but I replaced all the ball joints, bushings, and shocks. The car is now aligned properly. The rear tires are Mickey Thompson n50/15's. The front wheels are 15" also. The transmission is the original 23 spline four speed. The clutch is a McLeod unit that was installed in 2008. The car has an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.91 gears. It has a sure grip unit installed. The previous owner said he had it gone through and new gear installed. The car usually runs at 185 but it has got up to around 195-200 on hot days sitting in traffic. I use the delo diesel oil in the car with the comp cams camshaft additive. Oil pressure at idle is about 75 psi.
