Okay; remember when you bought that AMT kit? Well think of this as a full size model and the box is a 22 foot enclosed trailer. The car and trailer are located in Southern California (Norco) and I am listing it for a friend. The sad story is that the car was given to an auto restorer in the Hemet area and the "gentleman" used the money (Over $25,000) for other things and only did the major bodywork and rust removal (panel replacement). He completely disassembled the car and "misplaced" the transmission and the new tires. This can no longer be a numbers matching car as I also have my doubts on the engine being original, though I could be wrong on this. All of the trim pieces and top parts are there as are the interior components (all the stainless trim that makes it a Starfire). The car is for the most part being given away to someone with a love for this car as there were only around 7,000 of them produced in the original year (1961). Yes it will take a lot of work and a considerable amount of money but in the end it will be a nice car. Now about the trailer; it has been used very little and has a power winch, side door and dual axels with electric brakes, no leaks and is in excellent condition and on its own is worth about what the reserve price is. So like I said the car is for all intents a give-away depending on how much over the reserve you bid. The ball is in your court.
