Vehicle Detail

Early 1973 Porsche 911T MFI Early 1973 Porsche 911T MFI coupe The early 1973 911T coupe is considered by some to be the pinnacle of the affordable 911T series. These were the among the last mechanically fuel injected 911 production cars made. The throttle response and sound generated by the MFI system is something to be experienced! The fact that it is also a rust free, California driven, unmodified, non-sunroof coupe ordered in the desirable Aubergine color makes it an ideal restoration project. Specifications: I have a friend at the Porsche factory in the Classic department who supplied me with the following info from the Kardex build sheet: 1973 Porsche 911T coupe VIN: 9113100235 Engine: 6130363 is original color 4040=aubergine interior 26= seats leather brown dealer : Tourist delivery invoice: Sep.'72 options 414=instruments and oiltank like 911S Owner History: I purchased this car recently from a lady who had owned it since 1979, and had purchased it from her uncle who had bought it new. She did not keep much paperwork for the car, just some registration papers and the owners manual. She did not drive the car often and always kept it garaged. She thinks the odometer reading of 80,225 is close to the accurate mileage, and the condition of the car indicates this. Body Condition: A California car since new and always garaged, this car is amazingly free of rust. The rust free underbody, fender cavities, torsion bar areas, and rocker panels are what you would expect from a low mile California car. All body panels are original and there is no sign of any accidents. The only notable rust is some surface rust around the bottom of the headlights. Original undercoating in all areas Car has had one respray to red in the early 1980s. The previous owner claims she had it repainted then because the original paint had faded by then, and red was all the rage. The pinstripe was her personal touch. :) It still shines up nice in some places, but it needs to be repainted.Evidence of the original Aubergine paint can be found in the trunk, engine compartment, and small areas where the red paint has flaked off.Chrome work is in excellent original condition with no pitting or corrosion.Genuine Fuchs 16x5" forged wheelsThe rear package shelf is completely rust free. For more details, follow the link below for more pics and detailed body descriptions. Interior Condition: When I bought the car the previous owner had installed seat covers and padded the seats with foam. The original brown genuine leather upholstery is still there but in poor condition. All brown vinyl interior panels and rear seats are in excellent condition. Headliner replaced with non-original dark brown vinylWindows and door latches whorl.Original dash is badly cracked in many places. It has a dash cover.Door panels and original door pockets are in good condition with no speakers cut into them. Mechanical Condition: Original engine and MFI system complete with cold start in excellent original conditionCompression is around 150 PSI on all cylinders.Engine leaks a little around the valve covers and return tubes.Car was last used regularly in 1996 and was then put on non-op status. It was run and driven occasionally around the block since then. To properly revive it, I did the following: New plugs, genuine Beru plug wires, Bosch cap, rotor, points and condensorDrain and clean fuel tank and replace all fuel linesChange oil and adjust valves Marvel mystery oil in cylinders, let sit for two weeks Turn over engine to build oil pressure New master cylinder, brake lines replaced, fresh brake fluidClutch and synchros are good, sloppy shifter (needs bushings) Car now runs smooth and drives, but the MFI system needs to be adjusted properly to address starting problems.Heat exchangers are in good condition Has a loud custom sport muffler that should be replaced. Links: LOTS of additional photos Make sure to read my captions under the photos. Videos of the 911 running/driving (you can also see my 993 and '65 911 I sold earlier) Terms and Conditions: No Reserve. Please do NOT ask for a buy it now price! This auction will be completed and will NOT be ended early. Car is located in Colton, CA (about 1 hour from LAX airport) and may be viewed by appointment. It will be on jack stands in my garage where it can be run, but car is on a non-op so it cannot be street driven.Additional pictures and info by request.Payment by wire transfer or cashiers check within three days of auction end. Title will be signed and given to winner on day of receipt of funds. Funds must clear my bank account before car is released from my possession. Will help with shipping overseas...my house is about 1 hour from the port of Long Beach. Thanks for your interest, and happy bidding! On Dec-14-12 at 08:40:45 PST, seller added the following information: The Fuchs alloy wheels are 15x6" (typo above)
