Vehicle Detail

For Sale1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie Fastback or a 429 Cobra Jet with a Galaxie around it. This engine has less than 1000 miles on it. We bought this Galaxie with the intent to turn her into a muscle car and with professional help did so. When we bought the Galaxie the original motor had been replace with a tired 351 Windsor. We replaced that motor with a remanufactured 429 Cobra Jet with an upgraded cam from Engine Warehouse in Renton, WA. The engine was put together by American Motor Sports of Orlando, FL using only the best parts and pieces too numerous to mention here. Some of the major parts were an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake manifold, AED Holley 750 double pumper carb, high performance lifters and rollers, aluminum water pump, high volume oil pump, MSD ignition, custom made powder coated headers with custom exhaust through dual flowmasters for a deep rumble sound. An oversized aluminum radiator with chrome hoses, tranny cooler and dual electric fans were added to keep her running cool. The original parts list from American Motor Sports and others are available to show all the parts that were used in building this beast. A remanufactured C6 Streetfighter transmission from B&M combined with a GER thunderbolt torque converter were selected to handle the estimated 500+ horsepower generated by the Cobra Jet. A Lokar floor mounted shifter was added to control the C6 tranny. The front drum brakes were converted to a heavy duty disc brake system with all new tubing and master cylinder for stopping power. Our last planned step in completing the power train was converting the rear end to a posi trak system. We have not completed that step. That needs to be done as it will eat up the single power tire. Even without the posi trac this Galaxie has taken Mustang GTs, Camaro SSs and a few Mopars. We also planned on converting the steering to a more direct type as the original power steering is "60's loose" and we have recently found that the cylinder rod gaskets in the steering linkage need replacing. The Galaxie has been completely rewired with an 18 circuit Painless wire kit as the 50 year old wiring was not handling the power requirements of the heavy duty starter and alternator. We went overboard on the number of circuits as we had planned a major sound system in the cab and trunk and specialty lighting under the hood, in the trunk and under the Galaxie. The body is in great shape, straight with very minor rust and all chrome pieces. We had plans to either futurize the interior or go back to a bucket seat original style interior but that was not completed. This project has come a long way toward completion with basically the interior the last to do but my son has moved on and it is time for someone else to finish this project and take this "Gal" to her full potential. I will gladly email the parts lists that have gone into this Galaxie to serious buyers.
