1966 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible 76B = 500 Convertible A = Raven Black 45 = Red Crinkle Vinyl/Red Walrus Vinyl 19D = April 72 = San Jose CA 6 = C4 Automatic 6 = 2.80 to 1 This car was delivered in and been in California its whole life. There is no rust on this car except for a little flash rust uderneath. All numbers matching with the original 289 V8 engine with I believe to be the original miles of 96000,that runs really smooth and the C4 automatic transmission that shifts nice. Power steering works great but the control valve leaks a little. Just put in a new distributor, starter, battery, fuel filter,thermostat, brake master cylinder,front windshield (original had a crack), power steering hoses, firestone tires ,(literally 20 miles on them), rear view mirror, lock grommets,trunk lid seal, and a new Vinyl convertible top installed.Also had the carb rebuilt but still needs to be fine tuned. the radiator rodded, reconditioned and flushed the coolant system. The paint looks really good its less than a year old. There is a small scratch on the trunk. The rear bumper was rechromed and the front bumper looks pretty good but it has a small dent on the left side. All the lights work, including the gas gage. The fan does not turn on though. The convertible top goes up and down really smooth. Overall this is a great American Classic car that is 46 years old and still looks and drives like a dream. This is a No Reserve auction.
