Vehicle Detail

The car is a daily driver that has the following: CCP 500 power steering box, alternator, power front disc brakes, jet hot coated headers, aluminum radiator, rear shock mount bar between frame rails, Chrome plated aluminum valve covers, 350 SBC with roller rockers and a very mild cam, Weiand polished intake, Edelbrock 600 CFMcarb, 700R4 tranny with Hurst floor shifter, battery relocated to trunk, Alpine radio/CD with bass speakers and amps in the trunk, upper tubular control arms, newer bushings on lower control arms, newer tie rods, 8” dual booster, twin master cylinder, oil cooler and tranny cooler, 2” dropped front spindles and 1” lowering springs, Rain gear wiper system, all new wiring harnesses replaced last year, rear springs about ten years old, heater works (has new motor)etc. The car was brought back to life 26 years ago with new carpeting, paint and upholstery and mechanicals and many items have been updated since then. The radial TA tires have about 70% tread left. The engine and tranny have about 40K miles on them since they were replaced about 5 years ago. the rear bumper is new with great chrome. The car runs great and I would drive it most anywhere. I have driven this car to Oregon, 15 hours each way, non-stop (except for gas) from southern California to visit son several times and it ran flawlessly. So now for the down side…There is an oil leak at the bottom of the timing chain cover where it mates to the pan that I just haven’t gotten around to fixing. The undercarriage has oil staining on it from the leak. The rear end has a light howl in it at about 35-40 mph that disappears at any other speed. There is some rust on the lower doors and some of the frame to body supports are rusted through in some areas as was the driver's side floorboard. The floorboard has a patch panel on it and has been sealed up. The parking brake is not hooked up but I have the parts as well as many other spare parts including a pair of stock lower control arms with new ball joints and bushings and a complete differential, two spare axles and a rear disc brake kit that I have not gotten around to installing yet. Also has spare front calipers and a master cylinder that are new. Has a Grant wheel and security attachment to the driving column that lets you remove the wheel when you are not in the car. It could use a new paint job and some block sanding but it is not necessary. There are some deep paint scratches in the passenger door from going in and out of a very narrow single car garage. Remember I have been driving it in this condition for 26 years with no problems so unless you are looking for a frame-off you will find this to be a good looking, good driving car that gets lots of looks. There are no guarantees, implied or otherwise. Thanks for looking and please contact me with any questions. Not sure I could be any help with shipping as I have never done that. I would suggest that you plan on getting here somehow and drive the car back to where you live and enjoy the ride.On Dec-07-12 at 05:39:04 PST, seller added the following information: The oil leak resulted from a change out of the cam. I posted a picture of the way the supports? are rusted through on both sides about the same. I don't know what these are as they seem to be attached to the floor pan. They were that way when I got the car and I didn't see any reason to spend money changing them out, even if the part was available which I'm not sure it is.On Dec-08-12 at 12:00:48 PST, seller added the following information: I just went through the car with a prospective buyer and he pointed out that there is evidence of some rusting on the inner rocker panels. This does not need to be repaired but if you are looking for something that is more restored then I can understand that and if you want to retract your bid I will accept that. I want to be sure that everyone knows this is a daily driver and not a show car. He also mentioned that this is a California car made in Oakland. Thanks for looking
