1947 Ford Pickup converted to an AWARD WINNINGCustom Hot Rod Click on the arrow in the picture to play a short video of the photos. Want to turn heads? Nothing does it better than this one-of-a kind Hot Rod. 1st Place Winner for "Best Hot Rod" at the East Coast Indoor Nationals. Now, it's your chance to drive it home! Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own this car. Originally, a 1947 Pickup Truck on a 1953 Frame. Believe it or not, this awesome ride had a humble beginning as a 1947 pickup truck. After Steve and his team found this great vehicle, they aggressively chopped the top by 5 inches. Then, to get the cab even lower, they Z-d the frame 10 full inches! The ride might be low but it is still roomy inside. The way the car rides low makes it look mean... like it is on the hunt. It ALWAYS gets attention. Plus, the car is totally air-bagged. It has a full air-ride suspension. So, you can really get it on the ground for events. When we drive it anywhere - even if this car is on the trailer - people pull up next to it and take pictures. With so much attention, no wonder it is winning awards like crazy! This rockin' rod has won the following first place titles and received many other notable recognitions:1st Place - East Coast Indoor Nationals - MD BEST HOT ROD1st Place - Motorama 2012 - Harrisburg, PA BEST RAT ROD1st Place - Sizzling Summer Showdown - NJ Best Overall This car was designed and built by Steve Amadio and his team. Steve has been customizing cars for years. You have seen his work in national magazines including Vette Magainze and on MSNBC. Steve and his crew LOVE cars. They love to build custom one-of-a-kind creations. He has an in-house powder coat shop, metal fabrication shop and wood working shop, too. There's not much they can't do. This car was in production for about 2 years. He loved the idea of finding just the right part to make this car different. Friends and staff would add to it by scoring cool stuff, too. How else can you explain having a 1947 ELECTROLUX VACUUM CLEANER as a working air cleaner?! Rotating Gatling Guns! Rivet-style body! IT is totally unique! And the crowds LOVE it. People love to see the steering... it is made up of inter-connected brake rotors on the outside of the car; it handles well. Check out the "dynamite stick" where the gas tank used to be (passenger side). On the interior, there are gauges and switches on the ceiling that display the controls. The "dash" is a candy blue engine-turn pattern that adds cool color to the inside. The words "Rat Rod" on the bottom of the interior (you can see when you open the door) are cut out of metal and are back-lit in blue. This car looks good day or night. The cab is painted with House of Colors Silver for base coat and clear coat. The paint technique gives the look of brushed metal with airbrushed custom accents to make it authentic. While this car is registered and we have driven it on the road, it is really designed for promotions. It was not built to be an everyday driver. It would be great as part of a collection of rare cars or a stand-alone unique vehicle. There are corrections that should be made before driving on the road like reattaching some of the foam padding to the interior of the roof; it is being sold as is. You can email if you have questions. But these are small updates to make in order to own this unique ride. This one-off creation was used by Russell Newberry of Discovery Channel's show Deadliest Catch in the promotion of Dangerous Wines. It was also used by the Boy Scouts of America for promotional events. We built this car for promotion... and fun. This is GREAT for parades. If you have a business, you need this car. It always draws people to it because they have never seen anything like it. If you like attention, this is the only ride for you, my friend. Oh... and it is L-O-U-D. The short pipes make it exciting to hear start up. The photos were taken by photographer Morgan Phillips in a private photo shoot with original World War II aircraft. Check them out. You may also see a copy of the posters that we made for the car. If you win this auction, we will include a couple posters for your friends. Good luck and happy bidding!Cheers! Vehicle is sold as-is.
