Vehicle Detail
Auto Restoration shop offering this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 for sale on a no reserve bid to buy auction. I’m the shop owner, I bought this car from my technician whom owned this car for 17 years. I purchased this car to help with a trade on an original 72 Chevy truck that was for sale locally I really wanted, but it sold right before we made a deal, so here this car is for sale. This car lived it’s life in the high desert of eastern Washington. This car is 99% rust free, it’s a real Z28, I’m selling it as a running/driving project. Some conflicting info if this car is also a RS Z28 and not just a Z28, do your research, I’m no 79 Camaro expert. VIN# 1Q87L9L599157. Copy and paste or click on the photobucket link for 96 pictures of this car. http://s953.photobucket.com/albums/ae11/fj40man79/1979%20Camaro/ MECHANICAL The original motor is long gone. My tech built a nice 4 bolt main 350 for it a couple years ago, the motor has very few miles on it. He started with the most desired high nikel 0010 block, put a good set of heads, upgraded compression and cam to make a nice 300 horse pump fuel motor. A huge improvement over the stock 185 horse motor. Edelbrock intake and electric choke 4 barrel carburetor. This is an original air conditioned car, but the compressor and associated lines are gone. Power steering, TH-350 automatic transmission. A bunch of work has been done to the car is the past couple years. The tires have 200 miles on them. I’ve driven the car a few miles, It needs things here and there, but is a good solid start. BODY Overall, the body is in excellent condition. These cars are prone to serious rust, this one was stored inside and in a dry climate. The pictures on the link tell the story, there are only a couple spots of rot above the rear tail pipes, and a little scale in a spot in the trunk. No serious rot repair on this one. The driver side front fender is not original, I have the original with the Z28 louvers included with the sale. I also have an extra front fascia included in the sale. The front windshield is cracked. I’ve pointed out the negatives I could find, the pictures on the link will point it all out in detail. This car is a good start for a restoration. I would call this an easy restoration if you have some skills and time. These 2nd generation Camaros are gaining in popularity and price, as the 67-69 are getting out of budget for many people. Camaro magazine called the 78-79 Z28 the next car collectors should snatch up. NADA values this car from 6-20k depending on condition, I’m letting it go to the highest bidder. Copo z rs x11 dz 302 iroc camero hot rod classic vintage chevy 454 I require a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 6 hours closed auction, the remainder within 5 business days. I will mail you the title and paperwork directly after funds are cleared. I accept cash in person or bank to bank wire transfer. I prefer these two methods, but will take a cashiers check, but there is a delay in clearing those these days from out of state buyers. I have US Bank so a check from them is easy. I have a shipping broker whom has done perfect for me the last 69 shipments, and another shipper whom is cheaper on lower end vehicles. I will put you in contact with him or work with your desired shipper. I do not take or make money on shipping, I’ve found a couple brokers whom I trust, so I pass that on to you. International shipments need to go through another shipping provider. This vehicle is being sold as-is, where is, with no warranty expressed written, or implied. I’m a licensed auto appraiser, so I encourage an objective inspection during the auction and have no hard feelings about it. Winning this auction means you own this vehicle, not first chance to look at it. Looking is during the auction, and no you can’t look at the vehicle after the auction is over and decide if you want to leave a deposit. After deposit is made, I recommend the buyer to view this vehicle in person before the rest of the funds change hands. I will allow five days from closed auction for the buyer only to view the vehicle before final payment is made. I prefer to deal face to face, but understand time may be an issue and everyone can’t do this. If you decline to look at this vehicle before purchase, I accept ZERO complaints after the fact. No escrow, vehicle does not leave my property until paid in full. I will deliver within 300 miles of Benton City WA at $2.00 a loaded mile, will go to the US/Canada border but not into Canada. I apologize to the 99% of good people out there for making this disclaimer, unfortunately the other 1% make it necessary. I will do my best to answer any questions about this vehicle with an objective mind-set, I want this to be enjoyable to all parties. Clean Clear WA state title in hand, title and paperwork are sent out to you priority mail directly after funds are cleared. Thanks for looking!
