Vehicle Detail
this is the last time this will be listed. there is a $200 deposit with pay pal due 48 hrs after end. 7 days after car must be picked up and paid for. I will not give out phone number or street number until deposit is made. If you don't like the rules don't bid. If you bid before and won or did not take a second chance offer, don't bid, it will be canceled. This 2002 Passat was a nice car, until I tried changing the oil pump. More on that later.. Exterior in very good shape, one small rust spot on hood from stone chip, about dime size. One bubble rust spot at driver corner rear glass, about four by two inches. Typical light scratches of ten year old car. Driver side front fender has scrape on edge, but no metal showing. The little things: latch handle on glove box came off, can open with finger; only one key and the battery is dead on the fob; the plastic air foil under bumper is gone, and looks like needs new ac line from compressor. I may have cracked oil pan The Oil pump: At a quick stop the oil light came on, days after an oil change, half mile later dash info said stop. AAA to garage, at garage no problems, driven for week, no problems, then oil light, stop, repeat. This time changed oil sending unit, still had no pressure, checked with mechanical gauge, no pressure, given flush job, no pressure. So was given quote for $1500 to change oil pump. since I can do auto work, I decided to do it myself, ordered manual on cd, and started working on it, in visioning a clogged pick up tube or bad chain. removed all the bolts, ( I thought ), got the pan to move, but not come down, then discovered the two bolts hiding by flywheel. Could not get on the crank nut to turn motor to line up hole to get at bolts. Then read about removing a lot of stuff, dropping sub frame and lifting motor. I don't want to. So if you are a Volkswagen person that can do that, then then this is a three to five hour repair, I've spent ten and oil pan still on. This was my dad's car and it made a lot of 300 mile trips one way. It is listed at 19 mpg city 28 highway, but with his super gas conserving driving style, he could get 35mpg out of it. This is a pick up only. Is at my employer's shop, twenty mins north off the I 90 Batavia exit. easy to get to. plenty of room to load .
