RESERVE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED from previous listing! This '74 FJ40 spent the majority of it's existence in California and Colorado, a short stay in Louisiana and finally Texas. It has been very well maintained by the previous owners (many thanks for sharing the same passion for a true legendary vehicle) and I took it to the next level of being a beautiful-collector Land Cruiser. It has 72,581 original miles and the superb condition this vehicle is in reflects that low mileage. According to Land Cruiser restoration experts, year models '58-'74 have the highest 'metal grade' (most rust resistant) of all. That fact is evident with this FJ40 as the small amount of rust in the lower rear panel was professionally repaired. Additionally, the '74 model was the last year to have the very desirable upper-rear lift hatch & lower swing-out barn doors. This greatly enhances the visibility issue lacking in years '75-later with the ambulance style doors. This stock FJ40 represents the simple, functional and reliability that vehicles were known for 38 years ago. I believe the only option this one has is the rear heater (that works on high & low speeds). Even the dash light & lower heater light are functional. Newest items of work include: weather striping all doors and hatches, dash pad, emblems, shifter knob, door limiters, exterior and interior paint. The interior tub (rear bed and front floors) have a textured/rubberized finish with 3 additional coats of acrylic enamel. Michelin Cross Terrain 235/70/15 tires have 65-70% of tread remaining on them. Toyota OEM steel wheels and hubcaps enhance the stock appearance. All of the major restoration has been accomplished, so all you have to do is put your own special touches on it and drive & enjoy your 'investment'. The photos provide proof of the time and expense on the maintenance and restoration of this outstanding FJ40 Land Cruiser. As a daily driver: pull the choke, turn the key, it starts right-up and easily cruises along the highway at 65 mph. It shifts smoothly through all gears and the transfer works properly. If you are wanting it as a collector then it will certainly take center-stage on your showroom. As far as off-road is concerned....Land Cruisers are still 'on duty' in the Australia outback, African safari and the jungles of South America. The FJ40 will handle the toughest terrain out there! It has a current Texas registration, vehicle inspection and title in my name. There is a VERY LOW RESERVE price for a classic FJ40 in this original/restored condition.
