Up for auction is beautiful 1987 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup. My son purchased this truck two months ago, but later realized as nice as the truck is, it is not a vehicle best suited for him to commute to college in. He has decided to sell the truck and purchase a smaller car instead. Most people agree that the 1987 model year was the best year for this model. The truck was originally purchased in Rock Island, SC in 1987, and was driven by the original owner until he passed away. At that time the original owner’s son took over the truck and drove it for several years, during which time he had the truck repainted in the original blue and white color scheme. The son then sold the truck to the third owner about 2 years ago. The third owner began the task of restoring the truck. During his ownership he replaced the original engine with a newly rebuilt Chevy 350 small block engine, complete with Holley fuel-injected throttle body, and Hedman headers. The headers are attached to a new custom installed dual exhaust system that sounds awesome. The automatic transmission was also replaced with a newly rebuilt transmission with B&M shifter. The third owner continued to work on the truck by replacing the electric window motors and regulators and having a keyless entry system professionally installed. He also installed a new headliner and carpet. The seat has the original cover and is in great shape. The original radio is still in the truck and works great. The dash does have some small cracks but can easily be repaired by installing a dash cap. The electric windows and door locks work perfectly. According to the previous owner the original speedometer quit working at 90,053 miles. He replaced the speedometer with a used unit that read 42,897 miles. The engine was replaced at 43,367 miles. The truck currently has 46,065 miles on the odometer, which means there is only 3,168 miles on the engine. The engine is just barely broke in! During the past two months that my son has owned the truck he has installed a new set of Michelin LTX MS2 tires and had the front ball joints replaced. He has also purchased a new set of custom fit rubber floor mats that will be included with the truck. The truck is in great shape and runs well. The paint is in good shape, and the body has minimal dents considering the age of the truck. The inside of the bed is in good shape and is not dented or scratched up. The rubber bed protector will also be included with the truck. The truck has factory air conditioning that blows cold air. The truck is also equipped with factory dual gas tanks, tilt steering, cruise control and sliding rear window.
