Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a beautiful 1997 Cadillac Seville STS. The STS model is the fully loaded model for that year and in includes features such as memory seats and mirrors, BOSE sound system, auto dim rear view mirror, automatic climate control, fog lights, cruise control and much more. Here is an opportunity to own a reliable transportation while being stylish and comfortable, and all at a low price. This car has only 68,000 original miles and has done more sitting than driving. Two previous owners, this vehicle has always been a Florida car kept in great shape except for some cosmetic imperfections as can be seen on the photos bellow. The driver seat, arm rest, dash board, and steering wheel are weathered out and show ware, the seat does have a few tears as well. On the outside there are some dings and dents but mostly minor. The car is in fairly great condition and has a new thermostat, new sway bar links, and new upper motor mounts. The car has two issues which I am not willing to invest in, since that will raise the price for the buyer. None of these would leave you stranded or make the vehicle unsafe to drive. One is the air ride system which is a common failure around most Cadillacs, suspected bad compressor (around $200), there are conversion shocks available that will eliminate the system and make it much more reliable, for around $400 all around and about $150 for the rear only. It is up to you to decide what suites you best, there might be cheaper options as well. The only effect of the system failure is rougher ride over bumpy terrain, noticeable when running over speed bumps. The second issue is a problem with the Magnasteer system, this system tightens or loosens the steering wheel as you drive faster or slow down. Because of the failure the system is disabled and there is no variation in the steering wheel sensitivity, meaning the steering is normal all the time. I was told that the steering rack would have to be replaced in order to fix that, which I found for about $200 rebuilt. Again, the car is completely derivable and is great for a daily driver, the engine runs good, transmission shifts smooth, AC is cold, everything else works!!! If I was to tackle the two issues, I would have to sell the car for $4500+ and for someone might be better to pay less and drive it as is, than paying more money for the car. Buyer is responsible for pick up or transportation fees, if you do not have a transport company I can assist you with that. I do ask for a non-refundable deposit of $250 within 24 hours of purchase, full payment must be completed no longer than 5 business days after auction end. Thank you! On Nov-19-12 at 12:48:28 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that in regards to the steering issue, a message pops up on the dashboard. Once cleared, it does not come back until the next time the car starts. No messages about the air ride system come up and no other error lights stay on...
