Vehicle Detail

Please, please read all information in this listing. Thank you! (If you are new to ebay and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, please contact us prior to bidding (use the Ask A Question link often located near the top of the listing to the right just under our Seller Name / Seller info). We welcome your business and your bids, but just need to confirm a couple of items and establish contact with you first. Thanks!) This nice 8-10 passenger wagon is a 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park with 302 cubic inch, 8-cylinder engine and automatic transmission. We do have keys and a clear title. We believe the mileage to be approximately 126,000 miles. This car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows (working - see later comments), power door locks (working - see later comments), front split 50/50 front bench seat with power driver seat (working), dual front seat center armrests, air conditioning (does not work and we have never had it serviced), am/fm stereo radio (works), tilt steering wheel, cruise control (it worked when we drove the car on a long interstate highway trip but we have not used it recently because we only drive it regularly for short distances - we believe it to be working but cannot guarantee it), dual remote/power/electric side mirrors (working), rear tailgate window switch on dash (working), remote / power fuel door release (inside the glove box opening), aluminum wheels with center caps, and roof luggage rack. You get a new battery (less than four months old!). There is some rust but it is minor. The left rear taillight area was hit one night when parked along the street so it has some unrepaired damage. We found and installed a replacement taillight but sometime later the lens got bumped and broke (there is a piece broken out but we have taped it in place). The right taillight also broke and has been taped as well. This is a very solid car. The car has dents, dings, scratches, and wear to the "woodgrain" vinyl, as one would expect for a driver of this age. The front passenger fender and wheel trim has some scrapes and denting along the top center area of the wheel well opening where the previous owner must have rubbed up along something - garage door opening or pole or ??? Overall this damage is pretty minor. Unfortunately the front windshield has a crack that slowly spread all the way across so, unless you live in a state that does not require safety inspections for licensing, you'll have to replace the windshield. Same goes for the exhaust system - not sure if it needs a whole new exhaust from the muffler back or just a new tailpipe, but it likely needs something replaced. The outer front driver's door handle does not work (something must have broken off inside the door and we have not attempted to remove the door panel to repair it) but the door does open with the inside handle. So you can either enter the car through the passenger side or crawl in across the front seat and open the driver's door with the inside handle. The power door locks work on all doors except the front passenger door (lock works manually just fine) and sometimes it takes multiple pushes of the power door lock button from the front driver's door switch to lock the tailgate. Front passenger power window works well. Front driver's power window needs help going up and down - same with the rear driver's side window. I don't believe the rear passenger side power window is working at the moment. Tailgate power window works with the key in the lock as well as the interior switch mounted on the dash. Very nice interior. It is a very dark, deep red - possibly burgundy. The headliner, dash, and seats are in good shape. The cloth seats really are very, very nice. We keep them covered with sheets to try to protect from fading as the car sits outside and is not garaged or under any type of cover. The door panels are still in very good condition; very minor wear considering the age of the car, even on the front doors. There are a couple of minor tears/pokes in the headliner. The carpet still looks nearly new! The rear cargo area has two folding seats that face each other at the center rear. So I don't know how many passengers a person could realistically fit in this wagon, but potentially it could seat 10 (3 in front, 3 in full rear seat, and 2 small children in each of the rear folding seats). There are a couple of cracks in the dash and dash bezel. The gauges all work, as well as the digital clock, but the last time I went to change it for daylight savings time, I could not get it to re-set. We recently installed a new battery, so then the clock re-set to 12:00 and I've not tried to change it since. But it is working. The car runs pretty good overall. If you drive it very far, or for multiple errands, there is some smoke that will filter out under the hood when you are sitting still and we believe this is just oil residue burning off of the engine as there are no significant fluid leaks (we do not have to add any fluids on any regular basis). This is a great car to drive. E-mail requests for additional pictures. There is NO SHIPPING for this car unless you as buyer arrange for it via a third party shipper. Buyer is responsible for all costs of delivery/pick up. Seller will cooperate as much as possible regarding pickup. This car does run and drive and brakes are fully functioning so if you need to have it transported, there should not be any issues driving it on and off of a trailer / car carrier. The car is currently located in the metropolitan Saint Louis area of Missouri. Please remember that your bid is a contract. Full payment is due within 5 days of end of auction - no exceptions. (Ebay is indicating 7 days in payment info but we are requiring payment within 5 days.) Time frame for removal is somewhat flexible, but we'd like to have the car picked up within 30 days. The car is for sale locally so we reserve the right to end this auction early. See our other listings for additional items. We appreciate you taking the time to look at this auction!
