Vehicle Detail

Here is a sweetheart Corvette with very low miles and quite original. My big (read: "old") brother purchased it and titled it in Georgia (dated April 29, 2005) and in the 7+ years has driven it about 950 miles. He is now retired and living in southern Florida most of the time, and asked me to remove it from his mountain cabin's garage in northern Georgia and sell it. I think he anticipated it might be challenging to get it roadworthy but all I did was change fluids and battery and it immediately ran perfectly. It has all new tires as well- less than 50 miles on them! Appears to have original spare, never on the ground. Owners manual in glove box which unfortunately stuck shut last time. I need to lubricate that and get it open. All gauges work as they should. Power windows are fine. It runs, shifts and brakes as it should. Heat works. AC appears to work but hard to be sure since it has been cool lately. As the pictures show, the interior is nearly perfect. I think the carpet and seats and weatherstripping are all new. No floor mats. T-tops are mirrored and beautiful. Radio does NOT work. I think the headlights flip up properly, but I better go check. I haven't had it out at night. The car was painted around 2007, base coat clear. Metallic silver on the bottom. Some of the silver on the flexible soft parts front and back is flawed- crack, scuffed. Not too bad. The white paint is quite nice. Not perfect, but pretty smooth and shiny. Appears to have been wet sanded and buffed pretty well. Not a show winner paint job, but it would be much better than most at a cruise in. Up close in good lighting you can find a flaw or two, but really, it's a pretty good paint job, particularly being about 6 years old. Since it was indoors the entire time, it has held up very nicely. I notice a drip of oil or transmission fluid on the garage floor after it has been arked. I am optimistic this would clear up as it is driven some. Remember, it sat, unused, on jack stands in a garage for 6 years. It could use driven some. It has headers. They appear factory with smog tubes, etc. I am not a Corvette expert but I assume they are not factory? Did the factory put headers on in 1981? Looks to have an aftermarket exhaust. Monza I think. More stuff know about it: The rubber strip under the front facia, air dam? seems to be missing. The side windows have some scratches near the door handle area. Exhaust tips rusty on one side. Not sure if it has a jack or not. This is a really nice survivor. Under the hood particularly, and most everywhere else, it looks like it did when it rolled out of the factory. It isn't new, but much much better than most 31 year old vettes. I try not to over represent cars on ebay. I would hate for people to bid and get less than what they thought they were bidding on. If you check my feedback, you will see I recently sold a 1970 Challenger, and the buyer said the car was better than described (and sold for $18000). But Corvette folks are different. So if you are a person who says "in 1981, there was a sticker applied slightly crooked by the factory on the inner fenderwall and on this one, that sticker is slightly too straight", please don't bid on this car. However, if you are a person wanting a super nice, straight clean corvette that looks great inside and out, and could drive it home after winning the auction for maybe 6 or 7 thousand, the price of a 10 year old Toyota, this is the one for you. Come see it in Anderson SC just off I-85 before the auction ends. Crawl under it, around it, inside it. Good luck. Truly, this is a very nice car for chump change. We just want to move it. I can't keep a Corvette with a teenage daughter getting her permit. She needs something heavy with 12 airbags! On Nov-22-12 at 16:06:15 PST, seller added the following information: Thanksgiving day: Today I drove around my neighborhood- maybe 6 miles. Car ran great. However, when I pulled the headlight switch, the lights come on, but did not raise, and I could hear a vacuum hiss at the light switch. I presume this is the reason why the headlights did not go up. I can't believe this would be difficult to correct, but in good faith I intend to rebate back some of the selling price to the buyer. Perhaps $200 would be reasonable. The car is also nearly empty of gas, and I will take care of that as well. Any car sold should not be on empty!. While driving, the car came up to temperature nicely, the oil pressure and temp and volts were all perfect,
