Vehicle Detail
1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic for Sale We're selling our Jeep for the down payment on a newer Jeep. Because we can't make a good guess on value (mileage too high for good Blue Book), we're going to use the "no reserve" format. We'll try to describe the vehicle condition as best we can, but please ask questions or take the time to come by and inspect it personally if anything is unclear. Thanks for looking. The Good: 1. Study, solid daily driver with 4WD that has been in the family for over 10 years. Clear title, always registered and insured. 2. Has not been used for off-roading. No modifications. 3. Clean, well-maintained, non-smoker interior. All glass intact and clear. 4. Newer brake lines, rotors, and pads. Newer steering stabilizer arm. 5. Frequent maintenance, oil changes, and transmission (transfer case / differentials too) fluid changes regularly 6. Extras: original owner's manual and keys, full-size spare with rim, battery jumper cables, and 3-4 oil filters with Mobil1 Oil. The Bad: 1. The Jeep has over 235,000 miles and is 16 years old. Some things don't work perfectly - you have to hold the trunk open, you have to spray WD-40 on the door locks every few months, and you have to keep up with regular maintenance. 2. There was a small coolant leak (maybe lost a quart a week?) that we repaired with StopLeak. It's currently holding coolant, but the radiator may need to be replaced. 3. The A/C does not work - there is a leak in the receiver/drier so the system won't hold a charge. 4. The tires are getting low on tread 5. When getting the car ready for sale, I broke the hood release handle. I will try to repair it before the sale ends. I've been able to open it using a pair of pliers to pull the hood release cable, so you will still be able to inspect it if desired. 6. Original cassette stereo system. I'm including our audio jack cassette adapter, so you can plug in your MP3 players. You're also welcome to take our old ABBA and Charlie Daniels tapes. Videos: We added a few videos so you can get a better sense of what you're bidding on. The first is a quick walk-around, the second shows how the vehicle starts and drives, and the third shows the interior and describes some of the problems. http://youtu.be/s1oJFH1VG3c http://youtu.be/ggIAY-YBR5o http://youtu.be/dqTKb9L-LN0 Conditions: A $500 paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of auction's end. The balance is due in cash/Paypal within 7 days or when you come to drive your Jeep home, whichever comes first. The Jeep is located in South Bend, Indiana. My wife and I are willing to drive it out towards you (max 100 miles from SB) if you live in Indianapolis, Toledo, Chicago, etc. provided that you've already made full payment and are willing to reimburse us for gas/tolls. We can hold the car for up to a month if you can't pick it up sooner, as long as your full payment clears in 7 days. Thanks again for looking.
