For sale, as is, a beautiful 1974 BMW 2002 tii - no reserve price There isn't any telling what the actual mileage is. I purchased it from a gentleman in San Rafael, California and drove it to my home here in Houston, Texas. Houston has been free of salt roads and I have primarily driven the car only when there are no rains about. Supposedly the engine was rebuilt in 1999, transmission switched for a 5 speed and Limited Slip Differential. It was suppose to have a receipt for the rebuild however turns out the receipt is quite sketchy and not the kind of definitive documentation that would add value to the car. Personally I believe the engine to have been rebuilt as it does so well in high revs. During the 6 years I have owned the car, I have kept it in my garage to protect it from the morning dew and the Houston rains. No rust has appeared in this time frame and the only hint of rust is in the trunk close to the fuel tank and spare tire well. This car definitely needs a garage to protect it from condensation and rain. Currently cold starts require 3 to 4 short cranks. I will be checking the possibility of a sensor needing to be replaced. After driving the car for 5 to 10 minutes, the Kugelfischer fuel injection system warms up and is performance ready. For those new to these cars: this car weighs approx 2200 lbs, four wheel independent suspension, rear wheel drive, mechanical fuel injection, steering is like a go-kart, 2 liter engine with 120 to 140 hp. Details: 3.90 limited slip differential (I have not verified this) 5 speed transmission conversion (320i) oil pressure and voltage gauges installed in center console speedometer recalibrated for 5 speed suspension tech. 22/19 mm bars pioneer 6 CD changer stereo keyless entry and alarm system - sometimes requires key to finish locking/unlocking doors (battery is 8 years old...perhaps new battery would properly drive the keyless system) This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
