Vehicle Detail
1966 Lincoln Continental Executive Limousine by Lehmann-Peterson Coach Builders with 43,325 original miles and is being sold as-is in used condition. The vehicle has a 462 V8 engine in running condition. The vehicle will be sold with a transferable NY state registration. One of 159 produced in 1966 this Artic White limousine was originally from a dealership in Amarillo, Texas sold and warranted by Ford to a Texas funeral home. It needs a new vinyl top and exterior paint. Rubber mouldings also needs replacement. The engine runs well, top rear has some wetness from oil, it does not leak on the ground. I do jump start the car when starting it, so the battery needs to be replaced. I run and drive the car periodically in the driveway, the last time I drove it on the road was about one year ago. At that time I noticed occassional brake fade so I have not driven on the road since then. The transmission, rear end and power steering all seem to be in good working order. The suspension also seems to be fine. There are helper springs on the rear that were there when I purchased the car and they may have been installed when it was produced. Blue cloth interior in good condition includes air conditioning, power windows and looks to be the original spare tire In 2010 the vehicle received a tune-up with new points and rebuilt carburetor. The rear area of the limousine was restored in 2004 with new upholstery of both facing benches, carpeting and beverage compartment and flute holders. Additional work and parts in 2004 & 2005 include repaired rocker panels, voltage regulator, air conditioning repair with new compressor [old compressor included], receiver drier, electric cooling fan, turn signal switch, upper steering column bearing and rubber gasket, transmission linkage and o-ring, The master cylinder was converted to a dual master brake cylinder, fuel pump and fuel push rod, also a Sony audio stereo system was installed in the vehicle with the 6-cd changer in the trunk area. I believe the a/c system was overfilled with freeon by a mechanic at the time of the replacement thinking the larger system needed more pressure. Now the bearings in the compressor make noise when you turn the system on. The fuel pump and master cylinder needs to be checked for worn out gaskets. Some of the windows operate slowly and one does not work. The vehicle was used for weddings in a limousine business and was parked when the business closed, not for any mechanical reasons. It has been sitting for the last few years and has been started and running periodically, an overall inspection including the tires should be done before driving this vehicle. It can be driven onto a trailer using its own power. Please ask questions or concerns before bidding. Please read before bidding: Your bid is a binding contract to buy the item if you win.
