Vehicle Detail
This is a 1951 Willys Jeep with, I believe a 1946 windshield. It was used by United airlines to pull luggage carts so it is low milage. It has the United Airline brass plate with identification number still on the dash. It was not a military vehicle, but because I have several grandsons ( from age 4 to age 25) it was painted as a military vehicle for fun. It has had the normal rust areas as most jeeps because it is open top. The body was painted about 3 years ago and no rust has reappeared. The jeep was not intended to be shown but to be driven for fun only. The paint was sprayed on but again was for fun and is not perfect by a long shot. The jeep is like an old tractor and will go almost anywhere with ALL mechanical things working perfectly. The transmission, rear end, transfer case, 4 wheel drive, steering all are in great condition. The 4 cylinder engine runs great, does not smoke and is always dependable. The brakes were rebuilt this past year. The jeep has an antique vehicle tag and is road worthy. It has a low range for off road use and high range for road use. New tires were put on this year. Most of the boys have grown up now and it is time to move on. If you are looking for a fun jeep, very dependable, mechanically in great shape, mostly original (seats are mustang seats covered by me), with a military flare, this is it. The odometer shows 6,823 miles. I have no way of knowing if that is the correct milage, but have no reason to believe that it is not. The tires that were replaced looked like new, showing no wear, but were dry rotted. All areas that had rust were repaired with fiberglass resin and fiberglass matt and not bondo, but was repaired as a fun vehicle and not as a restoration. The body work is not professional even though it looks "good". I have learned since I listed this Jeep that it is a CJ3A with a front PT
