Vehicle Detail

This is my '63 Falcon Squire woody station wagon that I'm putting up for auction. It's been my daily driver for the past six years and it's time to sell it. While the woody Squire package is rare, this one also has the Falcon Sprint front bucket seats with console option – I've been told by some Falcon guys that this was done mid-'63 to spruce up the line a little. I have no idea if that's actually true, but it would make sense, since it's a little strange to see fold-down buckets in a four-door. It's got "big-n-little" tires (the rears are bigger than the fronts for that slight "hot rod" look) on rare Anson aluminum "slot" 14" wheels. The tires have roughly 5,000 miles on them. I also have the original 13" wheels and tires that come with the car. It's also got a new(er) transmission with about 5,000 miles on it. Other modifications include electronic ignition, aftermarket speaker holes cut into the front inner door panels, an aftermarket side-view mirror and air shocks in the rear (all on the car when I bought it). I don't think the paint is original and it's worn thin in spots – I think it's at least a 25 year-old repaint. It's got great, original glass in all windows. I added new seatbelts to the front seats and the car comes with new rear seatbelts that haven't been installed yet. Now, while it's been my regular driver, I would also consider it a "project" car. It's got some rust issues that need to be taken care of: I repaired some holes in the front passenger floorboard and the roof, and there are signs of some rust in the lower doors. There are also minor dents in the driver side front and rear quarter panels where the bumpers wrap around them. I'm fairly certain the car is running its original 170 c.i.d. straight-six engine and while it starts right up and runs fairly strong, it's got an exhaust manifold leak and it smokes some. The radio, gas gauge and temperature gauge currently aren't working. I replaced all the brake shoes and wheel cylinders in 2006 when I first bought it, but the passenger side front drum should be replaced (and a new replacement drum comes with the car, too). This car came with the electric rear window option and I have a replacement switch that comes with the car. Other parts that come with the car are exterior light lenses, rear axles, miscellaneous trim pieces, trim screws and fasteners, front brake pieces and drum and a few other random pieces. I replaced both front door weatherstripping, but the rear doors still need to be done – and new weatherstripping for the rear doors comes with the car. Overall, the car needs some work, so while I drive it regularly, the issues I mentioned above should be taken care of by its new owner. I get comments wherever I go with this wagon and it's a real head-turner. These early Falcons are extremely easy to work on, parts are cheap and easy to find and this one is a rare trim/interior package wagon that makes it even cooler! Ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for looking and good luck!
