Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1964 VW 21 Window Deluxe Microbus This bus is beautiful both inside and out. It has been restored and refinished in all areas. Almost nothing has been left untouched. Here is an overview of the specs of it. Please check out the link below for 150+ photos from all angles and details. http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/jet5nine/ http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/jet5nine/ TAKE NOTE OF THE SIDE PROFILE PICTURES AND SEE HOW STRAIGHT AND CLEAN THIS IS. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE IT IN THE REFLECTION OF THE PAINT!!! Engine / 1600 dual port engine Engine was done at time of restoration Converted to 12 volt system H4 headlights Electronic ignition 90 amp polished alternator Bosch blue coil New fuel pump Additional 1 quart oil sump 4 into 1 header with single quiet pack muffler New clutch and pressure plate Rear main seal All new cables - clutch, e brake, throttle, and heater boxes Last winter, I had the transmission out and checked all the seals, drained the gear oil, and replaced with new. I had replaced the throw out bearing, the axle boots, transmission mounts, front nose cone seal, rear coupler on the shift rod, also all new front shift rod and coupler, and shifter bushings. This bus still has the original gear reduction boxes and has the cables for the gas heater that is NOT in the bus. I did not, however, do much with the front axle at this point in time. It is clean, and does not require any attention….it just has not been restored yet. As far as body / metal is concerned…it has been stripped down to bare metal from the rain gutter down. Anything needing to be replaced has been replaced and even things that didn’t necessarily need to be replaced, but were questionable, we replaced. The work was done by a top notch, well known metal fabricator / restoration shop in the area. Battery tray Lower windshield repair Lower nose section Lower inner and outer cowling Lower inner and outer barn doors One jack point Belly pan and heat tube A few small pieces were patched in on the framing A small piece in the right front wheel well All dents and dings were repaired New fuel tank KYB gas shocksBilstien jack The bus is painted in Diamont Mouse Grey L325 and Pearl White L87 Clear coat is done in Glasurit The bumpers, wheels, and steering wheel are done in White L82 Glasurit The undersides - from front to back, was all scaled, wire wheeled, and painted with Por15, then undercoated The base coat is the Diamont RM The interior dash and air vent was done in single stage paint All of the window frames were also repainted All new brake hoses and hard lines front to back Wide whitewalls only have one season of driving maybe 4k Steering column has been replaced with a low mileage column Brand new headliner and sunroof Interior is mesh grey TMI covers and door cards Carpet on rear deck Rubber cargo mat Red and black cocoa mat in the cab It has all new window rubber, with original glass New door seals, engine lid seal, and back door seal It is missing middle seat and some interior pieces I do have a Sapphire 1 radio for it; it needs to be checked out. It does power up, and the clock and radio is 6 volt. Clock is not connected. I also have some extra parts and paint that will go with it The window seals are new repo, very good quality. Most are from Wolfsburg West in California The back hatch seal is German, the engine lid seal too All door seals are Wolfsburg west This bus is turn - key ready, just needs to be finished inside! For a brief history: There were 3 owners before me, but I do not have proof! I did speak to the second owner and got some information from him…. The original owner had it in PA, and Florida, and then at a cabin in Canada. Canada is where the second owner went to get it and bring it back to PA to start on restoring it. After that, a guy I know had owned it. He literally did nothing to it. It was just kept in storage. The odometer reads 26637, but I’m pretty sure that is 126637. I probably have put between 6 and 8 thousand miles on it since the engine was done in 2010. I do have a collection of receipts from paint and body, to parts purchased for, and during the restoration. I also have pictures of the restoration and the underside through most all of the restoration process. Note that the first start to a restoration was done by a previous owner. This did not go very far. Everything that is listed was done under my ownership. Basically a full on, almost complete restoration was done while I have owned the bus. I have owned it for over 4 years now. There are small imperfections here and there that I will do my best to cover in pictures. I have also provided a photo bucket link so you can view more, full size pictures. Please email if you have any questions and I will do my best to get back to you in a timely fashion. I have poured countless hours and thousands and thousands of dollars into this bus. You will not be disappointed whatsoever. Anything that would have been above me, or required specific involvement was done professionally with no corners cut. I have done the best I can to disclose all information about it.
