Up for bid is a 1971 buick riviera with the boat tail design. There were only 30,000 of these made and are very rare and hard to find. Let me make it clear that this vehicle is a restoration project only and does not run. The vehicle had been stored under a top covered shed so the body is in fairly good shape with some rusting as you may expect on a vehicle that is 40+ years old. My nephew had the car and stored it in or around 1982 and it has been stored ever since. My son discovered it last year and was given the vehicle by my nephew. He was beginning restoration of it to include cleaning the inside, cleaning engine compartment, gas tank sanding and priming, carb rebuild and a few other items to begin prep to make it run. He ran out of time and money and we are looking to pass this beauty on to someone who can restore it. Winning bidder will have to pick it up where it is garaged and will have to trailer it. These vehicles were way before their time in class and comfort and the right person will really have a gem. As far as payment...the winning bidder to pay non-refundable 10% of final sell price within 3 days of close of bid to hold vehicle until pick up at which time remainder to be payed to seller. By bidding on the vehicle, winning bidder agrees to pick up and pay remainder of sell price within 30 days of close of auction. On Oct-21-12 at 07:17:20 PDT, seller added the following information:the exact odometer reading is 50044 miles, however the odometer is not working and could be 73000, 100000, or even 150000 but quite sure it is not 500044... Also I have not been able to find the title. The vehicle title is clear as this vehicle has been in my family since 1971.
