Vehicle Detail

1965 Mustang Coupe 289 "C" code I have owned this car for about six months and have literally done nothing with aside from verifying that it runs and I drove it down the street a couple of times. I bought the car with the intention of restoring it, or making a restomod coupe, but unfortunately, I will have to let somebody else take the project on. The good, bad and ugly: I don't know the history on this car so I can only tell you what I've been told by the person that I bought it from, or I have observed personally in the short time that I've owned it. Drivetrain: The car is an original 289 and still has the original motor with a few small upgrades such as dual exhaust, ceramic coated headers, four barrel Edlebrock carb/intake. The transmission was originally automatic and now has a four speed top loader from a '69 mustang with a Hurst shifter. I was told that the clutch was replaced with a performance model, but have not verified that except to say that it feels like a brand new clutch. The trans shifts good until you try to put it in reverse. it will shift into reverse, but the linkage needs adjusting so it can be done with no problems. Just to be clear, it is not a trans problem, but a linkage problem. The carb definitely needs overhauled. It runs fine and revs up in neutral and can be driven, but bogs down under hard acceleration while driving as if the high speed jets are dirty. I think an ignition switch should be added to the list as I have only been able to start from the solenoid. It's worth noting that the car runs on it's own fuel supply as well...no cans under the hood. The battery needs charged/replaced. Interior:The interior is shot. Plain and simple, it need to have all of the coverings reupholstered. All of the original parts are there as far as seats/panels. The carpet/underlayment is not installed but there is a new in the box carpet/underlayment that goes with it to match the Palomino color scheme. The car has factory A/C, although not installed the components are there to include hoses, fan unit, compressor/condenser. Body:As you can see from the pics, the body is in descent shape and has descent paint on it. It is by no means a show car, but from ten feet away you could fool a lot of people if you wanted to wait on doing new paint etc. The body is straight overall, but some of the panels need to be adjusted to get the correct deck lid/door spacing etc. The floors are not nearly as bad as many that I have seen which is why I bought this one, but I would pay them some attention before I installed the interior. Overall, this car could be a quick turn around for the right person that knows what they are doing with very little investment needed to get it road worthy. The car is sitting lower than normal in the rear due to all of the extras in the trunk. It's normally and inch or two higher than it sits now. There are a few extras that go with the car as well: 289 heads/IntakeOlder mahogany steering wheelvarious rubber seals trim partsA/C components mentioned earlieretc etc $500.00 due within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment within 7 days. Zero feedback, please send a message along with your bid so I know you are real.
