Vehicle Detail

We bought the truck about two months ago from a gentleman in Virginia who had it restored in 1991, parked it in his garage, and put less than 1,000 miles on it after the restoration. We’ve put maybe 80-100 miles on it since we’ve bought it. My wife’s parents, who are in the automotive restoration business, did the pre-buy inspection for us. They called us immediately after they inspected it and told us that if we didn’t buy it in the next couple of days, they would buy it because they had a buyer who was willing to pay over $10K for it…so much for pressure from your in-laws. The truck was intended to be an occasional driver and sort of a signature piece for my wife’s business. Well, this truck deserves a better home. We have no garage, and I am concerned that the wear and tear of hauling paddleboards around will destroy it. It has the reliable Ford 223 inline-6 with original/NOS accessories (carb, generator, air filter, etc.) with a 3-on-the-tree. It starts and runs great, and gets a lot of attention. The price is a little negotiable, but we've just put over a $1,000.00 in new brakes (including master cylinder, hoses, dual-piston wheel cylinders and hoses), NOS fuel pump and voltage regular, so we believe that we are asking a reasonable price. Here are some noteworthy details: · The headliner is a matching red fabric piece that is sagging; the correct replacement is available online for around $150. · The rear bumper is non-stock. It’s custom, heavy-duty unit with a hitch; replacement aftermarket units are available in the $300 range. · The outside rear-view mirrors are non-stock, but look good. · It has the original AM radio, with an aftermarket 8-track player (yep) and aftermarket speakers. I don’t know if the 8-track works or not. · There is NOT RUST on this vehicle. · The underside was Ziebarted at the time of restoration (it’s red, go figure). · All of the rubber and weatherstripping is perfect, as is the glass. · Tires, suspension, etc. are all in very good condition.I have a lot of photos of the underside...contact me if you're interested. I have the vehicle listed in Local Classifieds in eBay so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Shipping is the buyer’s responsibility, but we will be happy to assist.
