Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my unrestored 1969 Road Runner convertible. I have owned this car since 1987 and it has never before been offered for public auction. I have always kept it in dry storage. It is the real deal. It has mostly original paint with some amateur spray can touch up that was done years ago. It has minor dents and dings as you would expect for an unrestored car this old. The true mileage is unknown although it could be right since the car has been off of the road since 1983. The car has never had any rust repair and it is amazingly solid . The floor pans, unibody frame rails and torsion bar boxes have only minor surface rust here and there but are solid. There are only a couple of small rust through spots in the trunk although it has surface rust. The underbody has only minor surface rust. The only rust through I can find in the floor pans is the area under the back seat and it is minor-see photo. The lower rear quarter panels are starting to rust through on the outer panels but the inner panels are solid and as I said they are factory original and have never been repaired. It has a non numbers matching 383 four barrel that has less than 1000 miles since a total rebuild. The exhaust manifolds are factory original and the exhaust system is new. I have recently replaced all the brake parts and replaced or rebuilt the fuel system parts so this car can be driven reliably. The car drives well but it has 25 year old bias ply tires so I would not recommend driving for a long distance. The top mechanism is all there and it worked in 1987. I tried it recently after the mechanical work and the pump motor runs but the top does not go up. The cloth part of the top was black and it is long gone. The windsheild is cracked and all side windows are good but the regulators need to be lubricated as they are hard to roll up and down. The wipers do not work as the right wiper pivot is missing and the left one is stuck. The trunk has to be opened with a screwdriver as the key cylinder is missing. I have a box of parts such as the left front marker and the radio bezel that are not on the car. The drivers side rear interior trim panel is missing. The seats need to be recovered. I have owned many Chrysler B-body cars and this is one of the most solid ones I have had that has had no rust repair. This is a very rare and desirable muscle car! Inspection of the car is welcomed and encouraged. My cell # is 270-646-6972. 10-13-2012- The top mechanism was only stuck from sitting. I got it working today without adding any fluid. 10-14-2012- I FOUND THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR INTERIOR TRIM PANEL THAT I THOUGHT I HAD LOST .
