Vehicle Detail

1989 Mustang LX Convertible for sale. 111504 original miles. 5 speed, 5.0L, loaded from the factory. I purchased the car a year ago from the owners who have owned the car for the previous 15 years. The car has never seen the winter, and until the past few years the car was from the south. Extremely clean for a car in Ohio, let alone anywhere. The car has never had any paint work done, (original paint obviously) and the southern heat has faded the front and rear bumpers. Overall the body is in good shape but there are some scratches here and there and a few dings. No rust on the body but I did just notice the smallst bit of bubbling on the rear trunk lid as I was taking the pictures. Very easy to miss but I feel I should mention it. Car looks very good for the age. Underneath the car is equally impressive with only some surface rust on some of the bolts here and there. Again super solid, unlike most mustangs you will find. I have done some work to the interior as the sun did its damage with the top always being down. I recovered the seats in the factory red cloth, (front and back) replaced the door panels, and put in new red carpet. The carpet needs some time to settle down as it is still bunchy and doesnt want to lay flat just yet. Interior looks very nice, again hard to find in this age mustang. The car runs perfectly and I have found zero issues with it. It does leak a little oil and it is coming from the back of the lower intake. The car drives great and still is very tight compared to others I have driven, especially convertibles. The air conditioning has been converted and blows very cold. I believe everything fuctions as it should and I have no reason to believe that the car will last for some time to come with no problems. Here is a list of what I have done to the car since I have owned it: -Brand new convertible top installed this spring /tops and pads all new, along with new glass rear window. -Brand new lowering springs along with new struts up front. I have new shocks but I haven't put them on yet. -New rotors and pads for the front. -3.73 rear gear -Headers, h-pipe, and flowmaster mufflers. Stock converters will be included in sale. Had to add the mustang sound to the car. -Added pony wheels. Tires in rear were new 1000 miles ago and matching front tires have 50% tread on them. Original 10 holes will come with the car. 3/4 tires on those wheels are in great shape, while one tire is ruined. -Interior as mentioned above. I'm sure I am forgetting some things but as for the bad with the car. Normal mustang items such as ashtray door need attention, horn switch in the wheel needs replaced, (currently wire is pulled or else the horn will not shut off) glove box opening handle is faded and could use some paint, a rear seat belt doesn't reatract back into itself. Some of the weatherstripping for the top/windows shows it age but is expected with the age. Pony wheels look good but could use a repaint at some point. Car will grind when putting into reverse when first starting unless you shift it a couple of times first (common on mustangs but feel I should mention it anyways) and the speedo does still read a little high I believe even though I added a matching speedo gear when I installed the rear gears. I believe this is all so bid with confidence as cars such as this are getting harder to find. I have the car listed locally so I reserve the right to sell prior to auction ending. I will hold car until funds clear through my bank. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Good luck. On Oct-07-12 at 11:53:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Failed to mention in the bad that the outside passenger door handle is broken. This just happened a week before I listed the car and it slipped my mind. Another common mustang problem and they sell replacement handles for $15 I think and if I can find one here locally I will try to have it fixed by auction end. If not I will give credit for the part after the auction since I should have listed this in the original ad.
