Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring minivan. This has been a fantastic vehicle, and one that I would not be getting rid of if I didn’t need to pull a boat, this minivan will not pull a boat, so don’t buy it if you want to pull a boat with it….. I searched long and far for this mini-van and wanted to only buy the best and cleanest van. I purchased the van from Park Place Mercedes in Dallas where it had been traded in on a Mercedes. The previous owner had taken meticulous care of the vehicle having it serviced at a Dallas Honda dealership on a regular basis, I only know this based on the car fax report, and do not have any specific receipts for your review. Since I have owned the car it has been a great family hauler and it runs down the road at 80 w/o even pushing it hard. And you still see 22-24 MPG doing that speed. I had to buy a mini-van for the growing family and wanted to feel like I was driving a real car, and that is what you get with the Odyssey. It corners, accelerates and handles like a real car, unlike so many of the other mini-vans out there. I can’t tell you how often we have been complimented on the appearance and styling of this van. I still believe it to be the best looking minivans on the road, I think the new square body Honda’s are great, just not as attractive. My wife has been driving this car, so no drag racing, and she is pretty meticulous about taking care of things, that being said, there have been 3 kids in the car, so there are a few signs of use, but overall, outside of finding a minivan that a grandmother had parked in the garage for the 2 times a year her grandkids come over, I don’t know that there are a lot of vans that would show as well as this one. So, the good: - Interior is in great condition overall. Carpets clean, leather in great condition (one little cut on driver seat), and all of the parts and pieces are there. - Engine and drivetrain are great and no clunks, noises or other out of place sounds. We’ve had It serviced at our local Honda dealer and they have told me it’s as solid as it could be. I replaced the front discs when I bought it ( one of them had a gouge that annoyed me on braking) and we had to replace the main flywheel on the engine (I think a poor design by Honda maybe, mating two separate metal flywheels with a composite rubber. Dampens the noise, but can break down over time, and it did), an expensive fix, but good for you that it’s done. - It looks good, drives great, and you will look as good as possible when driving a minivan The bad: - Couple of scratches on the paint (one on the hood that I have shown in the pictures) and a couple of minor grocery store door dings on the sides. Overall it’s in great shape, but the car has not been repainted before, and doesn’t need it, you should just know that they are there. - PAX tires…. If you don’t know by now, generally they are great to drive on and handle well, they just stink to replace, $1200 is what I was quoted for a new set, and it will need new tires sometime soon after you get it. I have done all of the researching on De-Paxing, and that is the way to go. I am not going to do it because you might not like the wheels I choose, and the PAX wheels do look pretty cool. So you choose new wheels and tires or just new tires. The PAX tires do wear more rapidly than standard tires, again, the internet can answer all of the questions that you might have regarding these, so do some research. So in short, a great Texas car that has lived a couple of easy winters up north, hauled a few kids around, and has a huge life left to live. I have owned Hondas and Toyotas and know that they will last forever…. They just don’t pull boats, so she’s gotta go. Message me on EBay with any questions or comments; I will be adding some more pictures shortly on the cut on the driver’s seat and any other minor stuff that you should know about. I don’t want to hide anything, and think that EBay is a great way to buy/sell cars, so please look seriously at this van; I promise you won’t be disappointed. I think that I’ve priced it fairly, considering that you will have to do something with the tires, so please take a serious look. I’ll take offers, but honestly folks, this is not a $8,000 car, so don’t waste my time or yours with silly bids. Message me with your thoughts. I’ll help coordinate shipping if you need ( Reliable Transport is great by the way ) and can hold in storage for a while. If you want to see the car in person, shoot me a message and I’ll make time ( Central Iowa). Payment: Cash is king, wire transfer, Pay Pal if you must, but I’ll want you to send a little extra so we can split the fees. I’m willing to cover half of them, you cover the other half.
