1968 Volkswagen Karmann GhiaBarn Find--or at least a storage unit find. I obtained this car from "Your Garage Storage" unit in Detroit, MI. It had been in storage since 1987. I installed a battery--cleaned the fuel system including having the tank boiled out and coated inside to prevent rust. I changed the oil and it started right up. I totally overhauled the brake system including new pads and shoes, wheel and master cylinders, calipers, and all new lines and hoses. The car drives well. It starts easily and stops properly. There are some problems with the car. Known issues:Speedometer needle just wiggles, odometer reads but speed does notRear wipers do not workClock, radio, and fuel gauge do not readExhaust is rustyBody needs attention including dent in left front fender and rust in right rockerThis is the only rust I see on the car. The floor pan is solid. I have attempted to accurately and honestly describe the car. It is ready to drive home.
