1963 Austin Mark 1 Mini, Project, Needs Restoration Up for auction is a 1963 Austin Mark 1 Mini, Project, Needs Restoration. We purchased this vehicle as is an are selling it as such. The car looks to have been disassembled and then reasembled. Most of the parts are loosely attached to the car. There is a lot of parts that appear to be missing, including the interior. There is some surface rust on the exterior and some major rust on the front floor along with the left upper door hinge area. We are selling the car AS IS. We do not know if the motor is good or bad, or what is still missing. This would be a good project for someone as most of the car is still there.THE CAR WILL BE SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE. This is what a Cooper expert has told me via email....The VIN is unique for a Cooper or a Cooper S. The speedometer is a Cooper S and motor looks to be a Cooper S because of the extra stud holes at both ends of the head. Its an early one probably with a 1071cc engine which is rare. It a piece of motoring history although a rusty one. Larry. That is information passed on to me, I am not sure whether it is or isn't a Cooper S. I was able to get the tag number on the block, it reads 12H-157 HI896. I am unsure about the HI digit it is hard to read. I also pulled another tag number near the bvin plate. It reads FE279399. I did not see any numbers on the head. I hope this information helps.
