We bought this vehicle about 7 years ago from the original owner. The original motor went bad at about 80K and was replaced with a 2002 motor with about 40K. About 4 years ago the CHECK TRANS light started to come on, mostly after trips over 40-60 miles. I've had the transmission serviced a couple of times over the years, replacing fluid and screens. The shop said that the fluid looked good on each occasion, and that there were no shavings that would indicate an internal problem. More recently I took it to an AMMCO shop, where I was told that though could not find a specific problem, they could try replacing the torque converter. My daughter who was using this truck has purchased a new car, and it makes no sense at this point for us to take pot shots at getting the light to go out and stay out. The transmission, by the way, behaves perfectly normal with no noticable problem. For what it's worth - the light is currently not on, and probably wouldn't come on till you were 40 miles or more away from here. The truck is in decent shape, though it does have numerous small dents and scratches - and the rust spots as shown. The motor is clean and strong, the exhaust and brakes are in good condition. The CD player seems to be jammed, there is one fog light out, and the ABS light is on. The tires might pass inspection, but need to be replaced. Other than that it runs well and rides nice and is a very comfortable vehicle with heated seats and mirrors and working AC. Please contact me with questions.
