Vehicle Detail
1971 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible. My Buick Skylark Convertible is currently registered and safety inspected. This is a good running Buick Skylark with less than 10,000 miles on professionally rebuild 455 Cubic Inch Buick V8 with a Quadrojet four barrel carburetor. It has a T-350 transmission and power assisted disc brakes. It also has an original GM air-conditioner that blows cold air and works as it should. In addition, it has power steering. You could fly into Salt Lake City and drive this Skylark home. I have a clear title in my name. Please look closely at all of the photos. This car is very complete, but looks better in the pictures than it does in person. The car is a "driver." I have recently driven the car on a 100 mile trip and it performed well. In the State of Utah a car is required to have a certified safety inspection each year. This inspection includes tires, brakes, all lights, window glass, wipers, horn, and suspension. This car passed the Utah Safety Inspection and is currently registered to drive until April, 2013. The tires are good and there are no cracks in the windows. The car comes with a lot of spare parts- including additional front and rear bumpers, tail lights, rocker chrome pieces as well as fender trim chrome, and numerous other parts. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are getting. With this in mind, I will outline in detail the problem areas that should be addressed. 1. There is old bodywork in the rear fenders that needs attention. There is "bondo" repairs that are cracking and the rear panels need additional bodywork. The floors are dry and have no rust holes and the truck floor is in good shape. 2. The interior door panels and rear window panels need attention. 3. The convertible top motor works, but the top needs manual assistance to go up and down. The convertible top is serviceable, but there is a tear on the rear passenger's side. Again, please look closely at the photos. 4. The paint is bad. The car was originally lime green in color, but has been repainted black and the paint is faded and worn. 5. The 455 V8 Buick engine is not original to the car. The engine is a correct Buick motor, but not number matching. It has new pistons, valves, etc. including a completely new dual exhaust system. The car sounds really nice. If you have questions about the car, please feel comfortable giving me a call. My home phone number, which is still attached to my kitchen wall, is (801) 745-0599. I'm not a car dealer, I'm a retired school teacher that loves old cars. If you have fewer than 10 positive feedbacks in your Ebay feedback score, please call me before bidding. I want this to be a good straightforward auction.
